That stinks, though. With instant, you don't know anything (i.e. price range) before buying, right?

    Welcome!
I think price range is the only thing you do know with instant ordering

and looking at the seat map, there is just no way in hell I'd order the $200 level of ticket without knowing exactly where I was sitting. those seats in 1 & 3 are worth it IMO but in 6-9? no thanks at all, I'd rather pay 50 and sit on the lawn than 200 for those seats

Honestly, that's what I'm thinking. The $200 price range is huge; it looks like uncovered are the $99 seats and then there's not much in the $120. There are a lot of shitty seats @ $200. I did sit in sect 7 two years ago, but right at the sound board. They were really good seats (b/c the sound was phenomenal) but I wouldn't want anywhere else in 4-9 at $200 / ticket.

I'll see what's available on June 23 with the public on sale, but I'll probably end up in lawn.

The way the line-up is listed is strange to me, there's no way that Mellancamp is bigger draw than DM+TR or Jack Johnson. And I've even argue that Sheryl Crowe and The Avett Brothers are a bigger draw. But what do I know. I assume he's billed so high because he seems to be every Farm Aid.

He's one of the founding members and on the board. It will always be headlined Nelson, Young, Mellancamp, Matthews as long as they do it, regardless of whoever else they bring in. I totally agree though. I'd be way more pumped about Avett Bros than anyone except D+T and Neil.

In addition, before checkout, you’ll see a $50 processing fee for your order: this is your Farm Aid Presale Pass allowing you access to the best seats before they go on sale to the public.

It sounds like you'll get the presale pass for $50.

The last time I went to Farm Aid, I just did lawn.
I may not do that this time, but I'm also not overly concerned about where my seats are. If I can opt out of certain price levels, I'll just probably order my tickets through the Warehouse.
Does this mean that it'll cost me $50 for the privilege to buy pre-sale tix? I'm just getting lawn seats ( (2x50)+50 )? I guess I should just wait for the general sale

Can someone refresh me on the time frame of this show. I forget how long it lasts. It has been a while since I was at the one in Hershey and the previous one in 2002.

That's what it sounds like to me. I haven't been to a Farm Aid since 2002, and if they had a pre-sale back then, I definitely didn't pay attention to it.

I would not pay for a pre-sale to buy lawn tickets. I can't imagine how you won't be fine getting lawn during the public on-sale.

    Did anybody buy pre-sale tickets?
I looked and by 12:01 (and I've tried again since), there were 0 tickets in the $129 or $99 range. The $199 seats were all in section 4 or 5. The tickets came to $500, with processing and pre-sale access fees.

damn, the VIP were $400 each. But we're in the 9th row in section 2. Plus we get free food, drinks, private bathrooms and vip area access. Probably wouldn't do it for a regular concert, but a full day event made it a bit more tolerable. I guess especially since not that great of seats in side sections came out to $250.

I was never really interested in buying; I just wanted to see what they had and roll my eyes at how bad some of the seats were for that price.
I'm fairly certain cheap is probably the last word anybody that actually knows me would use to describe me, but $199 for even sect 1 & 3 is more than I want to spend for this show. I'll just enjoy the day in the lawn.

This is not entirely true. Yes, for shows that are not selling they offer this but for Farm Aid this will not be happening. The Farm Aid presale tickets are already sold out unless you purchase Willie's fan club bundle on ticketmaster. This is going to be a well sold ticket, so I don't expect to see any offers at all for this one.
