    In Austin, if you live in one of the high rises downtown and work downtown it's probably not that bad without a car.


    Outside of downtown, you'd be stuck with busses and rideshare to get everywhere and that gets old.

    Personally, I only know one person in Austin who doesn't own a car. But he works from home. It's just too spread out, and we have no trains.

    You can live in Chicago without a car. It's not awesome but it's doable. Even though I have my own vehicles, I still take the train out to the suburbs for work due to traffic being so shitty.

    You can definitely do Chicago without a car. Maybe not the Burbs so much, but definitely in the heart of downtown and the surrounding neighborhoods (Wrigley, Lakeview, Lincoln, Wicker, etc.).
