Agreed. First two episodes have been great. Need more Tyrell Wellick though.

Never picked up Mr. Robot again after Season 1. I really liked Season 1, but I don't know... once S2 rolled around, I just found myself not really giving a shit what happened after S1 so I never watched.

Great episode I agree. This season has been off to a great start, really only one mediocre episode so far. when they take the mascot head off and the guy in the background pukes in his mouth

Enjoying Broad City this season too. Has a different feel than it used to but still really good.

Just started Peaky Blinders, on episode 2 now. I like it, but I'm having trouble getting past the Boardwalk Empire-esque look of the show and the plot parallels. Not that I didnt like Boardwalk, it just kinda tired me out by the end of it. Also, I feel like the plot is predictable. The copper, the gangster, the hot barmaid/informant. I might need a different type of show altogether.

keep going, each season is better than the previous one. the tom hardy scenes in seasons 2 & 3 are worth it alone.

Fuck yes, I loved it. But I love most things David Fincher does. Thought it was riveting as hell. Especially the Edmund Kemper character.

looking back at LUKE CAGE again, having recently finished THE DEFENDERS. man especially considering it was only a year ago now that LC first debuted, and I pride myself on how well I do with faces (whereas the total opposite with names), well then with finally catching up on The Wire this past summer, I can't believe I didn't realize Keema Greggs, that she'd been in Luke Cage. granted it's not a major role, not nearly as big as the regular she was in the Wire, but it's big enough in the first half of episodes I'm shocked I didn't notice. Although, having the two now so fresh to compare, I swear her skin is significantly a deeper black in Cage that she was in the Wire. I mean that's not really usually a typical element of aging in black people, is it? so unless she did something to herself, the anti-Michael Jackson

haven't gotten there yet, but it's definitely up near the top of the list. Fincher's as automatic as it gets for me, and I've heard nothing but fantastic things of the whole run (plus Anna Torv finally comes back out of hiding! )

Season 2 is a prime example of a sophomore slump even though it had moments of excellence. It just meandered greatly. It's too early into Season 3 for me to say for you to jump back in, but on the path it's going right now, I have a hopeful feeling that I will soon be saying that it's worth getting through the second season to watch 3.

As for Peaky Blinders, yes, that is an excellent show and I still haven't gotten around watching Season 3. I started a rewatch probably close to a year ago or more near the release of S3, but only got a couple episodes and just got sidetracked. It's definitely on my agenda to do a full rewatch soon, though depending on if S4 is not too far along, I may just wait until then.

    Re: Official Television Thread v2.0

I'm honestly kinda dumbfounded at where some of this backlash has come from on Mr Robot (& I mean generally around online, not just here). It felt like after s1 it was being anointed as the best new thing on TV, and not totally unjustifiably so. and again, to be fair, Sam Esmail was very open about how s2 was going to feel significantly different. You can have arguments on whether or not overall it was inferior in relation to s1, but I still don't think it was objectively "bad", not by a long shot.

and this has now been an incredible start to s3, really starting to get a sense of the true, bigger scope of what Esmail has in mind for the whole thing now (I don't recall seeing anything specific from him on this detail, but I'd be very surprised if he had anything in mind for more than 5-6 seasons max for the story he wanted to tell, if he gets to keep control). How episode 2 ended, that was flat out SHOCKING. I didn't remotely see that coming. And it was filmed extremely well.

edit: oh the other detail I wanted to mention-- I like how they're REALLY leaning into the ability they have to simply produce the show as they want, and as far as the language knowing USA can simply bleep out profanity for normal primetime broadcast. I mean in that regard it's like full blown rated R material. Watching a rip from the Amazon feed, 03x02 I swear must've had like a dozen different F-bomb drops.

Me three. We liked season 1, and when season 2 started we could barely remember what had happened. And S2 just seemed even more weird/out there, that we eventually just didn't care to keep turning on new episodes.

I really like the look and feel of Mr. Robot and am enjoying the third season so far. The biggest thing that bugs me about it is how derivative of Fight Club it is.

Came across this on Reddit. If you're on the fence about watching Mindhunter watch this chilling video, gives you an idea what it's about.

Just finished one and working on another true crime series on Netflix I enjoyed

Finished confession tapes, liked it a lot. Hoping for more.

Watching Killer in the family, so far it’s interesting.

For the people that liked Mindhunter, did you enjoy episode 1? Is it pretty "slow" throughout or does the pace pick up?

Trying to decide if I should revisit or if it just isn't for me.

I posted this over in the Netflix thread about the same thing, but about 3/4 of the way through the first episode I was like wtf am I watching??.... but the last 20 mins or so it kinda found its stride for me. And then from there on I thought the rest of the series was fascinating.

I like Peaky Blinders a lot more than Boardwalk. Better characters and I like the infusion of modern music as well.
