Currently have Netflix and Hulu+ and our AppleTV - though I'm seriously considering adding one or a combo of SlingTV (mainly for ESPN, losing a friend's login in about 2 weeks) or either Showtime/HBO apps.
If you're located near a larger city, then a Mohu Leaf should be just fine. Either the Mohu Leaf 30 ($40) or the Mohu Leaf Metro ($20) depending on your location. If you're farther out, then the Leaf 50 is amplified.

I have the 30 and it works well, but I live fairly close to a major metro area (about 12 miles outside downtown Minneapolis in the suburbs).

I'll give a second thumbs up for the Leaf. I've had one for a few years. It worked great when I lived about 30 miles from downtown Atlanta (I live closer now).

Awesome, thank you for the info! I'd be a candidate for the Leaf 50, so definitely something I might buy in the next few weeks. Thanks again.

My friend had it for awhile and said he liked it a lot. Said that outside of slight buffering issues now and then, it worked pretty flawlessly.

Not really sure how often he watched TV, though.

I had it for a few months. Barely used the "live TV" function as it had buffering issues as well as syncing issues (vid and audio not matching). Not ready for prime time in my opinion, BUT it does come with access to the WatchESPN app, which is a much more reliable service/app.

Can't jump on board with the negative reviews for Sling, though to be fair I'm still in a two week trial. I got it mainly so I could watch the Bowl Games on ESPN last week and thought it worked very well, especially when I mirrored it through my aTV to our TV. Obviously from the sounds of it there's still some kinks to work out, but hopefully they can deliver.

Sling TV, HD antenna (gets you the major networks like ABC, Fox, NBC, CBS), bootleg sites that usualy are difficult to work with and may have poor quality, or getting a login from a friend/relative who has a cable subscription to log into watchESPN or something.

How much on average is everyone in here saving?

I calculated that I'd be saving around $40 if I got rid of cable. I was debating whether or not that was enough of a difference to make me cut the cord.

I was paying about 120 for Internet and cable
I'm now paying 62 for cable. Was paying for sling tv too for watchESPN but my parents hooked me up with their login info (huge score).

So I'll prob shell out 15 more for HBO now and still be saving over 40 a month

I've had it basically just about since it came out. It does have some buffer issues now and then, but it's fairly rare for me. ESPN and ESPN2 are the only channels that have audio sync issues, but when watching sports it really doesn't make that much difference. I think it's an ESPN issue rather than a Sling issue. It's great to be able to watch ESPN and AMC without cable for me.

Are you thinking of a Slingbox? Otherwise I'm not sure what you mean by "had one". Sling TV is a streaming TV service. It's an app basically, like Netflix, but for live TV.

I'm paying $147 after taxes/fees for internet and cable (second year, so they jacked it up).

I figure that if I cut the cord I'd be paying $60 for internet before taxes/fees, $25 for SlingTV, and $7.99 for Hulu. I was going to get Netflix, but probably don't need it AND Hulu (I also have Prime, but I'm not counting that since I'd have that regardless). So, I'd be looking at $92.99 before whatever my internet fees are. Not bad.

I'd just need to figure out how I can watch my Bucks games without having to watch them on bootleg sites or paying for League Pass.

    I'm saving about $100/month.

    I have Comca$t for $65

    Hulu for $8

    Prime for $8

I just signed up for Sling TV service ($20). I already had the FireTV, so no additional cost

and we have a house netflix account we all split, so that's like $2/month

I have the chromecast, but I'm pretty disappointed and with the other services, it's become obsolete.

plus an HD OTA antenna for local and home shopping channels. We cut the cord 18 months ago. Haven't looked back.

We have a Roku 2 on our main TV and a Chromecast on an anscillary one... works perfectly.

I don't think that Chromecast is obsolete at all... I'd say that the majority of people out there still don't have smart TVs. Or at the very least not smart TVs everywhere they may have a TV in their house.

I thought I would get by with Amazon Prime streaming, but I reinstated my Netflix account after a month once cutting the cable. The content on there is much, much better. Even adding Netflix, I'm still saving $40/mo from before with cable. My Roku 2 (a nice little device, by the way) purchase will pay for itself after less than two months.

How does Hulu stack up to Netflix?

I would probably go Prime/Hulu instead of Prime/Netflix because I'd like to be able to watch current seasons of some shows right away. Hulu would be the best choice then, correct?

Hulu you can watch current stuff yes. But its got annoying commercials. Its more expensive if you want to limit commercials.

Im a big fan of Netflix's original content and I think they're doing things right, so I would say Netflix. Ton of great content, but yea it doesnt get shows until like 6 months after the season fully airs.

There's not much that I watch on TV (as in cable/OTA) so Hulu doesnt make sense for me.

I do watch a few shows on FOX, but FOX is smart enough to provide a free app and make their content easily available for a good amount of time. They're doing things right too.

I have the AmazonFire TV Box, and it's awesome. We stream the music almost all day during the weekend while we're doing stuff around the house. They have a huge movie library, with many new releases are free to rent.

We've also bought some of the party games (Fibbage, you dont know jack, and others) to play with company for the holidays. Phones are the remotes for most of them, so there's never anyone excluded.

Voice search is awesome, though Alexa isn't all that great yet.

We used to watch hulu through the 360, and buffering was so awful, I almost cancelled the service. But through fire tv, I've had zero issues.

Maybe I didn't give the chromecast a fair shake. Even with lower resolution, the video stream was buffering and choppy all the time. An online 45 minute episode of whatever we were watching took 90 because of streaming and other issues.
