Patterson was let go a few months ago. Best coach by far in their history. He probably is going to put himself to take over if Sark is dismissed. If it happens soon, might be young enough to coach 3-5 years there.

Lots of signs that Harbaugh is indeed leaving Michigan. I wonder if the thinks his tenure - finally beating Ohio State, but still 1-5 against them - was a success. As someone who was born at home plate, but thought he hit a home run, I understand why he is leaving.

I'm hoping he's not going to the Vikings. I'm not nearly as high on him as I have seen other Vikings fans online. Would much rather a younger assistant come in.

Good for Harbaugh. I know another shot at the NFL is something he wanted, and he reportedly told recruits that. So he did it the right way.

Good opportunity for Michigan to go with an outside hire and reset the culture. Take down the Bo statue, rename the building, etc.

For him, now is the ideal time to leave Michigan. He’s never going to have another year like last year, imo. Michigan will always be consistently good. But I don’t think they’ll ever be consistently great again.

I have to assume he wanted it. Per reports, he told the Michigan AD, he won't be looking at the NFL in the future & the Viking didn't even offer him the job - the Vikings are apparently are going with O'Connell, who doesn't even call plays.

Agreed. I know he was a true FR but I don’t see JJ McCarthy as this all time great talent as many think.

I can’t see them replicating what they did this year.

Every quarterback since Harbaugh got there has been touted to be the best player to ever step on a field. We hear it every year in camp and then when they beat up on a few cupcakes in September, then conference play starts and we see what they really are.

The stories coming out now are that he went into the interview thinking it was his to lose and the Vikings were like, no you gotta come in and earn this. Early on in the interview it was looking good but it took a turn and it was evident on both sides that it wasn’t going to be a good fit.

Again, I’m glad (as a Vikings fan) that it wasn’t him.
