    I'd be shocked if there was a Clemson/ND vIII in the first round - ratings do matter. Assuming Alabama wins, this is the three scenarios:

    Clemson wins:
    1. Alabama
    2. Clemson
    3. Ohio State
    4. ND

    Clemson wins by a 30+
    1. Alabama
    2. Clemson
    3. TAMU (to avoid a rematch with Bama)
    4. Ohio State

    ND wins
    1. Alabama
    2. ND
    3. TAMU (to avoid a rematch with Bama)
    4. Ohio State

    In saying that, I'd love a scenario where Ohio State plays ND in the first round

    Ratings matter sure but very stupid to use that as a reason to rationalize with what this committees goal is.

    Also don't think there's a huge group of fans out there that would actively skip watching ND/Clemson just cause they were playin for the 3rd time. It's the damn semi-final, people will watch.
