I find the tailgate to be much more of an experience out here then what I ever saw at Irvine or Chula. We sure are. Last year for Irvine, they are tearing the venue down. Got us a pair of pit tickets for that one.

Also, the midas lot was an absolute shit show. Thought it would be better as I had heard good things. Trying to be in a more laid back environment next time.

Awesome! And I know about Irvine, surprised it lasted as long as it did. Wild Rivers was gone, what, 5-6 years ago? I will be down in San Clemente visiting family the weekend of these shows. Don't have tickets for either so working on that part. Think Chula will be the easier ticket to find of the two shows since Irvine is closing and it is the de facto LA show.

How was everyone's exeprience with the hotel they stayed at? I was pretty impressed with the Radisson. They had DMB playing everywhere, had a big sign welcoming DMB fans, and even changed the names on the drink menu at the bar to DMB songs. Plus, the employees were very nice and my room was clean.

I'm going back to the Super 8 whenever there is another show in Hartford. Awesome group. Room was fine. Ours even came with a pull out couch that had blood stains.

For real though. Such a close walk, and one of the best tailgates I've been too for a parking lot...

I second this as I also stayed at the Raddison with my son. Rooms were clean, vending machines cheap, and it was cool that they played DMB music. I would stay there again.

that sounds cool. could you tailgate there or no?

super 8 had a solid tailgate scene.. laid back. nice area in the back corners of the lot with bunch of bushes and tree cover. Take that over porta potty and their lines any day. pretty short walk to the venue thru the businesses.

my buddy got his license plate stolen off his car in the lot overnight, which we noticed the next morning so that was a negative.

I really liked the Marriott Residence Inn downtown. They didn't have all of the fan features that you mentioned, but the staff at the hotel was very nice and helpful, my room was clean and HUGE, and I thought it was an easy walk to the show. I would definitely stay there again for a DMB or any other show.

I liked the Hilton. I have stayed there a few times. I go back and forth between the Hilton and the homewood suites. Not much of a party atmosphere but it's in downtown and not a bad walk

They were able to hook my buddy up with a pretty decent cot so we didn't have to share one

Random shot in the dark: When we were leaving, a friend of ours grabbed what they thought was our bag (wasn't our bag). It was a nylon bag with like 4 windbreakers/raincoats. We were way up in the back of the lawn, off to the right when looking at the stage. If anyone lost it, send me me a message.

sounds like my experience this past weekend. my buddies and i stayed at the homewood suites next to Black Eyed Sally's and Pigs Eye Pub. great spot downtown, was walking distance if you were up for it. and my buddy needed a cot so he didnt have to share a bed with our other friend

Anyone have attendance numbers? It looked pretty packed to me but I wasn't on the lawn. Tickets were harder to get this year too. Really wish they would bring back 2 nights!

They could easily dump a few mid week southern shows and add 2 nights to hartford. The only thing stopping it is country shows having priority, the band wanting to tour less and potentially smaller lawn and seat totals for a friday show.

This year i think Dierks Bentley did Hartford Friday and Mansfield Saturday (reverse of DMB) so there was really no way dmb was getting 2 nights. The band easily in 2 nights of hartford (even with N1 having low totals) get higher attendance numbers than 90% of the venues on the tour. However the capacity % and change to tour less hurts the odds of them doing 2 night stands in hartford again. I hope they go back but we shall see.

Just seems like they've found their current New England sweet spot hitting Mansfield and Hartford one night each the same weekend. Have had great attendance with that model the last few years. I'm sure the days of 2 nights at either venue are gone unfortunately.

2013 was the last time they did 2 nights at both venues. Mansfield followed Hartford with a handful of off days. But it was 4 great shows

Last year I thought Mansfield > Hartford. This year it flipped
