Maybe not an announcement of the vinyl or a special edition at right now. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a LiveTrax from 98. Maybe 4.18.98? Lots of debuts in that show.

They already said they were going to do a series of posts commemorating the anniversary.

I guess I would be surprised if this isnt released inside the year 2018...Maybe not on THE EXACT day 20 years later but both UTTAD & Crash all were 20 years after their original releases so I dont see them deviating from that for the capstone of the Big 3.

I’m going to bet this will be the annual Christmas release in November or December. Most likely packaged with a Live Trax. Seems like a perfect time to get a little bump in sales from people buying it as a gift.

I’m not sure what they have ultimately decided on. I don’t want people to start thinking this will be some release to end all releases here, so idk if “super ultra deluxe package” is a healthy way of looking at stuff haha. That inevitably breeds disappointment.

I agree with this... just seems like that's how the timeline is lining up. I think we would have heard something by now if it was going to be released anytime soon. They'll want to avoid releasing it around the same time as the new album or taking any 'hype' away from that.

I thought the album would be delayed and BTCS reissue would be earlier... but now I think it will be the other way around.

That said, I think if the new album release gets delayed past summer (probably unlikely at this point)... they would probably delay a BTCS reissue even further, don't you think? I don't think they would want those 2 things to overlap.

I dont have any info from inside the DMB managment mind, but in general releasing a new album and re-issuing an old album don't need to be kept apart. The bulk of the market for the re-issue is mostly in place already, and a new album to buy doesn't turn them away from a reissue. The new market you might be trying to get to buy the new album likely has no idea about the old album and are also not affected. Not that they would try to lump them together, but also not a huge deal if it end up that way. A new album has way more moving parts to it that impact when it comes out, the vinyl re-issue is "did we get the product from the pressing house and put records in sleeves yet?".

Well, I guess that depends on the 'package'... but yeah, if it's JUST a vinyl reissue only than there would be less of a concern around it coinciding with a new album.

It won’t be an issue. Unless there’s a delay, the new album is set for Summer. And according to some inside intel, the BTCS reissue is set for Fall/Winter

Even these retrospective BTCS social media posts are kind of boring. It has been nothing new. Just recycled facts that many fans already know.

"Help Myself" was recorded in studio during the recording sessions of Before These Crowded Streets but ended up being on the Scream 2 Soundtrack. #BTCS20 #DMBHistory
