For me, I'd want to hear extended jams of all the songs. Would be great to hear all they recorded for Rapunzel, Crush or Spoon. We know that Lillywhite recorded 10-15 minutes at a time and took the best parts of those jams.
This would be spectacular.

Oh, and Machead, of course. I've always had a sneaking suspicion that part of it became Sleep To Dream Her. Sounds insane, but part of it is supposed to have been subsumed into another tune, no?

MacHead, and if Chim Chimney sounded much different from The Stone. The original live "Funk In Five" jam that turned into Rapunzel. At this point, IDK how awesome a BTCS live compilation would be. In 2008, when there weren't a thousand officially released concerts I would have been clamoring for it. Maybe a video disc with music videos, Live At The 10 Spot, and The Making of BTCS doc with the current core band members giving a commentary track.

The 10 Spot show would be a nice inclusion.

Ooh, as a Live Trax with it. That would be

I know Jake’s article when he heard Machead said it sounded like STDHer, so it’s possible.

I've this creeping suspicion that if Machead were on it, it'd be a huge letdown.

Maybe do a special stream of the song for Warehouse members. Geraldo Rivera could be the one to play it for all of us.

I doubt we get Machead, to be honest.

People will be pissed, but they'll mostly forget about it if the album is mastered right and there's enough to appease both the vinyl enthusiasts and the general fanbase.

People were pissed Crash didn't include extras, and we mostly got over that.

You think people are expecting it to be on there to the point that they'll be pissed? I think if someone expects to ever head Machead, specifically on purpose from management and not a leak, then I feel that they aren't living in reality. Just my 1 cent.

I don't disagree, but people were "expecting" bonus material from Crash as well - like Deed is Done, #36, Little Thing, etc - and were vocally disappointed when none were included.

True. Expectations have been the downfall of many a good DMB fan.

I would call this a massive blunder..I really enjoyed getting Granny on UTTAD anniversary..as well as the acoustic Nancies & Jane. That's all I really cared about.

Was really hoping to hear a studio Get In Line from Crash. Was definitely disappointed. Didn't purchase the vinyl as a result

I think calling it "a massive blunder" is hugely exaggerated and hyperbole. Call it "disappointing"? Maybe. A let down? Okay. But a "massive blunder"; I disagree. This has become one of the best sounding albums that I own as a result of Chris Bellman's work on mastering from the original analog tapes.

Also, do we have confirmation that Get in Line was actually recorded rather than small pieces tried and never completed, for the Crash sessions? I always thought GiL was recorded during BTCS

Arguably the best vinyl produced by the band (aside from one certain fun little release) and it's considered a "massive blunder" by fans here.

Would anyone even want a bunch of extra songs on the BTCS vinyl? I'd like extra songs on a CD, but as far as the vinyl goes, I think the album as released in 98 would be perfect.

Yeah, I'd prefer any vinyl release be the original album. If they want to put bonus track on wax, put them on a separate disc or a 10" or something. Otherwise keep it to digital for the bonus tracks.

PREACH. I'm a sucker for rare stuff, especially music from my favorite band. Anything I haven't heard before will always get my full attention.

Exactly, I'd much rather hear things that I haven't heard before than just have a higher quality of things I've already heard. Don't get me wrong, I love vinyls, I just wouldn't be able to use em really, but having unreleased tracks on my phone and computer would get plays alllll the time

    Just thought of this:

If the new album is indeed (according to Dave) coming out early (Q1?) next year, does that potentially push back the BTCS re-release? They probably wouldn't want two big ticket items coming out back to back. Album in early spring, BTCS in the fall?

it was essentially a re release with no extras. ive heard the studio album many times, and originally heard it over 20 years ago. why even bother if theres no extra goodies? cool, the vinyl geeks got something to add to their collection.

you knew what i meant too, ass.

For me, I'd want to hear extended jams of all the songs. Would be great to hear all they recorded for Rapunzel, Crush or Spoon. We know that Lillywhite recorded 10-15 minutes at a time and took the best parts of those jams.
    Bro, you know what?!

    Eggs ARE fucking sweet!!!

you knew what i meant too, ass.
What? The rerelease of an album contained music previously released? That's insane. Management thought they could pull a fast one on us.

Did some research and found the upcoming Live at Luther College vinyl has the same songs as a previously released live album! Same versions too! They even kept the songs in the same order! Massive blunder coming up unless they do something fast.

Hope someone can get to the bottom of this at management, otherwise we'll all have to go straight to Dave to get some answers.
