I couldn't hit the buy button fast enough when I found out that my favorite band of all time was finally releasing a blu ray, especially after my radio city blu ray has been played 1000 times over. Hopefully someday soon we will get a HD video blu ray but I was just fusterated about getting my hopes up and hoping that this disk would hold me over during the bands break and the constant hangover I've had ever since the gorge night 3 this year. I'll always love this band, the sound on this mix is fantastic & skip over my tirade earlier in this thread.

I'm not kinddog, I cringed at 99% of his comments. I just shared the same frustration with the quality of the video as his.

Someone posted it a few pages back. I'd find it, but I don't feel like going through the drama of the past couple days. It's there though.

From a raw resolution standpoint it will be identical. LS has lossy Dolby so the Blu-ray from an audio fidelity standpoint will be far superior. The shots themselves on LS may have a more professionally shot look to them vs. the pro-shot look to LT40 but yes, quality wise the picture should be very similar.

You haven't seen LT40 yet, correct? LS looks better to my eyes. Raw resolution and other technovideo terminology aside, it just looks better.

LS DVD video looks better to my eyes than this blu ray. Sound quality is much better however.

FedEx said they were unable to deliver to my address. Said returning to sender. Double checked and the address I entered was correct... I call yesterday to find out more. Tell me that it is a USPS package. Tracking number didn't work or maybe USPS has a different tracking number. But now I have to go to work until 730 and was really looking forward to having some new cds in the car (also got the Sweet Briar show).

Mine has been sent all over the midwest, and according the tracking information it still won't be here until Monday. Was shipped last weekend, don't know what the hell is going on.

I have only seen the DIDO clip, but again I'm only differentiating the quality of the source material not the quality of the shoot.

Which do you think looks better between LS and Folsom Field?

Haven't watched folsom in a long looooong time. I'd have to dig it out.

I'm sure there's a lot of factors that go into why one looks better than the other (lighting, camera focus, humidity, what boots dave is wearing, etc.).

That said... the sound quality of LT40 BD is definitely superior.

Totally agree on the many factors.

I think Folsom is pretty awful. I mean, I like some of the performances (Bartender) but the video shoot is like watching the 2nd Bourne movie! Source-wise the fine detail is better than Listener Supported and I believe Folsom is 16:9 but that's where the pros end. The guy that did Listener Supported already had a pretty impressive resume before PBS tapped him for DMB including The Who, Sting and Tony Bennett; I love Listener Supported...I wish it had been shot to film because I think a lot of people here also enjoy it and it would have made a great BD release (I'd have been happy with 16:9 cropping too, no artistic intent lost like there is with movie framing).

Oh sweet, sweet Grey Street...what happened to you? I was thinking the same exact thing when I listened to it. There used to be a day when I thought a set was lessened in value because they didn't play Grey Street. Now? Not so much. What happened to Grey Street may be arguably the most tragic thing to happen to any song they've ever written.

Someone posted pages back that they called and I don't remember the exact day but I think they were told it would ship next week. When he complained about the site still showing the ship date as the 6th they sent the release separately for free

A whole lot to name. DIDO > Granny > Pig opener is fantastic. Really loved the version of . Seek Up > Ditch > Watchtower mid-set is such a good run. And then SMTS through the Ants closer is just phenomenal. As someone already mentioned, you can feel the energy from the crowd when Dave says "Ladies and Gentlemen, the godfather of soul James Brown" they go nuts... then he walks out a few seconds later and the place erupts. Wish I could have attended that show, must have been an unbelievable moment to experience.

I'd say the opening DIDO, Granny, Pig, WWYS, Grey Street run; FTT on the electric is cool; Seek Up w/ intro and then obviously the closing Sex Machine, Christmas Song tease > Halloween > Ants.

As I said before it's just a really fun release.

One of my favorite parts of the Blu ray is when the guest saxophonist's mic wasn't working well during his Sex Machine solo so Brown brings his over and then starts a mini-duel with the guy. No idea what that dude's name is but it looked like it was the hi-light of his life. I knew Brown was a performer but it was just unreal to watch him in action.

Oh and Carter's smile during Sex Machine – it looked like the hi-light of his life as well.

    For those that care:

    5.1 24/48 dts-ma - DR12 - http://dr.loudness-war.info/album/view/119777
    2.0 CD incl. WH Bonus - DR10 - http://dr.loudness-war.info/album/view/119776

Pretty sweet dynamic scores for both.

Is it possible when it is found a Mod can put the link to the screenshot in the first post? That way it doesn't get buried again.

I guess your lucky. Mine is supposed to be here Monday also. Its been scanned once, on Sunday. According to my tracking number its still back east and hasn't moved. I'm really starting to doubt its arrival on Monday.
