Summer Tour Opening Acts

is it baffling anyone else that not all the openers have been announced yet??

I'd like to see openers back for summer tour. Who would everyone like to see? Tyler Childers, Leon Bridges, Kevin Morby, First Aid Kit, and Portugal. The Man I think would be solid gets.

Tyler Childers would be awesome. Doubt seriously mr Childers would buy into touring with dmb though. Opposite ends of the spectrum

He probably wouldn't be doing the whole tour, just a few stops. But yeah, I know nothing about himself, so I'll take your word on that. I think he'd be the perfect opener though.

Tyler Childers is this really good country singer. Leon Bridges is a fantastic soul singer who put out his first album in 2015, Morby I started to get into because of the AOTD thread. He's like a mix of Bob Dylan and Lou Reed, First Aid Kit are a sister folk duo, and Portugal. The Man I'm sure you know there song Feel It Still that blew up this summer.

Anything but Old Crow Medicine Show....I had to sit through them like 10 years ago at Jones Beach and they were horrific

I'm anti-openers. I know they don't take away from DMB's time, but it just feels that way to me sometimes.

I know people didn't like the 2Sets how they were, but I'd love if they did 2 electric sets and played more music with a break in the middle.

I would like to see North Mississippi Allstars open up a few shows again. Saw them open a show in 2013 and it was great.

The Allstars used to be great. They're just good now. When they had Chris Chew they were a real blues band that knew how throw down. Their music isn't the same now that he's gone.

I have seen them twice. Once around 2010 or 2011 in oxford on the streets. Then for dmb in Southaven. Im pretty sure they had Chris Chew both times. I have not seen them since and didnt realize he had left.

Pretty silly to be anti opener if the band starts at the same time whether or not there's an opener (which they do ).

DMB has always brought out excellent openers. I hope they get back to it this tour.

Openers are great. You either get to see another really good band, or if they suck you get more time to tailgate. It's win/win.

Chris officially left in 2012 but he'd been in and out for like a year already. They found him unconscious in a hotel room in a diabetic coma in 2010 or 11 I believe. He took a long time to recover and I don't think he could handle the touring anymore after that. He played gigs here and there with them but I'm pretty sure the Southaven gig was one of the Burnside boys.

Thank goodness someone agrees with me. I have never seen the appeal for Wagonwheel. Living in Nashville I get a ton of crap for hating that song...

I remember the first time I saw OCMS I had never heard them before and I was amazed how out insanely shitty the crowd was. Everyone had their back to them until they played Wagonwheel. Everyone freaked out and sang along then ignored them the rest of the show. The song isn't even that good.

It's a pretty terrible song. Lyrics, music, everything about it. Nothing can redeem it. Not even Darius Rucker (I love Darius Rucker, but realize that is an unpopular opinion)
