Looking to go to Alpine in 2018 - are there buses than run from Milwaukee to the venue? Would like to spend the weekend in the city in between shows.

    I'm sure that there are.

However, my $0.02 is that you don't go to alpine to spend 5+ hours in a bus

There will be party busses that pop up. Sometimes on here. Several from Chicago. A lot from areas around the venue. Not sure on Milwaukee.

Even if you don't say at Alpine, Lake Geneva and Delavan Lake are both great areas to stay close to the venue for the weekend.

But if you have a specific reason for staying in Milwaukee, I'm sure there will be a bus.

Yeah, agreed with all. Alpine is ALL about the tailgate. We try to roll in for every show between noon and 1, tailgate all afternoon. Tailgate scene at Alpine is unrivaled. It's amazing to just wander around those massive lots and take it all in.

They always officially state that the gates open at like 3:00, but they always open them early - they'll post on their Facebook page as soon as they are letting cars in, and it's usually sometime between 11am and noon.

Milwaukee is a fun town, no doubt, but IMO you're better served setting aside a day or two outside the show days to do that. Like if the shows are Sat-Sun, get into Milwaukee on Friday and do your thing there, then dedicate the rest of the weekend to Alpine.

Talked to the guy from Livenation about season tickets a couple days ago. They will have 5 "events" this year. When he said events I asked about acts or events. He told me that each day is an event, so if Dave Matthews Band shows up they are putting on two events. I then asked about camping. He said camping was definitely going to be offered for all the events this summer. By the way, he made it sound like there were going to be at least 8 events, but they have 5 right now. I couldn't get a hint on dates or performers.

That's great news! So, sounds like they've got 5 shows "locked in" and then are hoping to add at least 3 more? I am guessing the 5 so far are:

    DMBx2
    Buffett
and either Phish or Dead & Co x 2

Love that #41. I mean, I love ANY #41 regardless of era, but I love it now with the awesome long Tim solo in the middle. I know the cool thing here is to hate Tim now and I agree that on certain songs the rhythm work can be a little overpowering, but I love the songs where he really gets to stretch out with extended solo breaks (#41, Warehouse, Crush, YMDT), those are some of my favorite moments in a show when you know he's getting ready to melt some faces.

Are there any good cabins close to Alpine? Considering doing a cabin this summer instead of a hotel.

So this past summer, I got to do something I never dreamed I would have the chance to do. I got to go backstage at the D&T shows in Nashville and had the opportunity to meet Dave. Now the only thing I feel like there is to do, is see the band at alpine valley. The Mecca. Alpine would easily be in the top 3 places to catch he band, correct?

    Spac tops alpine?

So if I had to pick between the two, would most people say go with spac?
