No discipline whatsoever though, and honestly I don't care how hard you can hit if the guy you're hitting just scorched you for 20 yards.

I agree he needs to play with more discipline, but judging by his instinct alone, I like what I see. I understand what you're saying, though.

He's got some serious potential. Someone needs to sit him down and tell him the ways of the world though, because he is out of control.

McCarthy is a flipping moron... I felt that way all of last season, he had been better this season and I felt that I should go easier on him, but after last nights game I have permanently cemented my opinion that he is a complete and utter dimwit

His play calling is terrible. I like everything else he does. Very good at sharpening young talent.

The on-side kick was the breaking point for me

I've been criticizing his playcalling since the loss to the Bears and then again against the Chiefs (moreso during the first half). I still think he's a really good coach though, and easily the best the Pack have had since Holmgren in my opinion.

that wasnt an onside kick. Crosby effed up his steps. You could tell because his foot hit the ball at such a weird spot in his stride.

I don't see that at all...

A onside at that time in the game is disguised which that one was.

It was going to be recovered if it didn't hit that guy's arm. I thought it was a good call and would've changed the game up quite a bit...

I agree. I think it was a suprize onsides kick. If he was genuienly tryin to kick it away it would have gone a hell of a lot further than that. Also, he made contact with he ball in a strange spot becase that's how you kick an onsides kick....by "topping" the ball to get it to check up.

Did they address this after the game in press conferences?

An email forward I received today...

    ---------------
Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, and Brett Favre all stand before God on his mighty throne.

God asks Peyton Manning first: "What do you believe?"

Peyton thinks long and hard, looks God in the eye, and says, "I believe in hard work, and in staying true to family and friends. I believe in giving. I was lucky, but I always tried to do right by my fans."

God can't help but see the essential goodness of Manning, and offers him a seat to his left.

Then God turns to Tom Brady and says, "What do you believe?"

Tom says, "I believe passion, discipline, courage and honor are the fundamentals of life. I, too, have been lucky, but win or lose, I've always tried to be a true sportsman, both on and off the playing fields."

God is greatly moved by Tom's sincere eloquence, and he offers him a seat to his right.

Finally, God turns to Brett Favre: "And you, Brett, what do you believe?"

Brett looks God in the eye, and says, "I believe you're in my seat."

    Another one...

    -------------
A man is on a Caribbean cruise and proceeds to have the time of his life - until the boat sank. He found himself swept up on the shore of an island with no other people, no supplies... Nothing. Only bananas and coconuts. After about four months, he is lying on the beach one day when the most gorgeous woman he has ever seen rows up to him. In disbelief, he asks her, "Where did you come from? How did you get here?"

"I rowed over from the other side of the island," she says. "I landed here when my cruise ship sank."

"Amazing," he says. "You were really lucky to have a rowboat wash up with you."

"Oh, this?" replies the woman. "I made the rowboat out of raw material found on the island. I whittled the oars from gum tree branches; I wove the bottom from palm branches; and the sides and stern came from a Eucalyptus tree."

"But ... but ... that's impossible," stutters Tom. "You had no tools or hardware. How did you manage?"

"Oh, no problem," replies the woman. "On the South side of the island, there is a very unusual strata of alluvial rock exposed. I found if I fired it to a certain temperature in my kiln, it melted into forge able ductile iron. I used that for tools and used the tools to make the hardware." Tom is stunned.

"Let's row over to my place," she says.

After a few minutes of rowing, she docks the boat at a small wharf. As Tom looks onto shore, he nearly falls out of the boat. Before him is a stone walk leading to an exquisite bungalow painted in blue and white. While the woman ties up the rowboat with an expertly woven hemp rope, he can only stare ahead, dumbstruck.

As they walk into the house, she says casually, "It's not much, but I call it home. Sit down, please. Would you like to have a drink?"

"No, no thank you," he says, still dazed. "Can't take any more coconut juice."

"It's not coconut juice," the woman replies. "I built a still. How about a Pina Colada?"

Trying to hide his continued amazement, he accepts, and they sit down on her hand-woven couch to talk. After they have exchanged their stories, the woman announces, "I'm going to slip into something more comfortable. Would you like to take a shower and shave? There is a razor upstairs in the cabinet in the bathroom."

No longer questioning anything, Tom goes into the bathroom. There, in the cabinet, is a razor made from a bone handle. Two shells honed to a hollow-ground edge are fastened on to its end inside of a swivel mechanism. "WOW! This woman is amazing," he muses, "what next?"

When he returns, she greets him wearing 'nothing but vines' strategically positioned, and smelling faintly of gardenias. She beckons for him to sit down next to her.

"Tell me," she begins suggestively, slithering closer to him, "We've been out here for a really long time. I know you've been lonely. There's something I'm sure you really feel like doing right now, something you've been longing for all these months. You know..."

She stares into his eyes. He can't believe what he's hearing!

"You mean ...", he swallows excitedly, "We can watch the Packer game from here?"

The onside kick was a great call... It would have swung momentum and kept the Dallas DEF on the field. It was just unfortunate that it touched the GB player inside of 10 yards.

I am going to miss my first Packers game in a few years tomorrow. The bright side is that I am flying out to Vegas for a week.

Thanks. It's for training, so I won't spend all my time in the casinos (or strip clubs).

Nice. What kind of gig puts you in Vegas for training? I think I need a career change.

Law enforcement. The company putting on this training only holds them in Vegas or San Francisco so I can enjoy either city a couple of times a year. I'm glad I found them.

I am required to get 40 hours of training a year to maintain certification. I could do some locally but where's the fun in that?

In honor of Packers/Bears week, here are two bits of information to ponder:

-From 12/09/28 to 09/28/30 the Packers shut the Bears out 5 straight games.

-During the Brett Favre era the Packers have finished below .500 only once. In that same time period the Bears did it 11 times.

    Go Pack!

Here's pulling for a Cowboy loss as well as a packer win. I live in the heart of Cowboy country and I tell you what it's really good to take all this shit from these cowboys fans at work but to know that we still strike alot of fear in their eyes.

Packers are now 13-3. Favre has set another NFL record for most wins by a QB against one team (Lions). Looking forward to the game in two weeks whomever we play.

    GO PACK!
