I'd actually suggest you check some statistics. I'm not saying your wrong, I know there are plenty happy trans people out there, but from the suicide rate, to the fact that, statistically, transitioning doesn't even help that rate, to I believe upwards of 40% afterwards wish they could undo the surgery... It's horrifying stuff. Really wish there was a solution for those people.

a lot of it is...with being transgendered, take societies negative view towards you, and now add (if you're really going to go through the complete process) multiple painful surges, body mutalization, therapy, hormones, and so on. Who the fuck wants anyone they know to have to go through that?

It's both. I couldn't imagine being 5 (because it seems to actually be discovered that young) and already knowing you were in the wrong body. That sounds like a personal hell, regardless of how society feels.

Yeah, but reading through the sources cited by that article, many are not related to one another in terms of their content or findings, and I think we need a clear definition of what people count as discrimination.

A parent saying to their child, "hey, you may want to consider the consequences if you opt for a surgery that will irrevocably change your anatomy" counts as discrimination according to one of those sources.
