2022 is a wrap for me. I ended up running 8 more miles than I did in 2021.
1,788.
Overall it was a disappointing year. A tale of two halves. January and February I chose not to run very much, less than 60 miles each. March I started running again but I ramped up the training too fast. Half way through April I developed a foot injury that lasted on and off through June. In total I only ran about 550 miles total for the first 6 months.
The second half was completely different. End of June/July I started building my mileage for the marathon. August was my most monthly miles ever (272) and peak weekly mileage (70+). September began my taper and the twin cities marathon was the beginning of October. I was disappointed with my time (3:30ish) and now I know it's because of my lack of miles the beginning half of the year.
Following the marathon I have done a great job of maintaining miles. November and December were both 170+. All in all the second half of 2022 I ran about 1200 miles.
I didn't hit my goal times for 2022 so I am carrying them over for 2023
5k: 18:36
10k: sub 38
Half: sub 1:28
Full: sub 3:05
My immediate plans is to train for a half thatnl is scheduled for the first week of April. I plan to run an 8k the end of April but then I don't know what else I will do.
Happy trails!
