Re: **Official Alpine Valley 2019**

I originally posted this in Random Thoughts, but figured it might drum up some conversation in here. Ozzy canceled his Summerfest show (7/4) due to injury and the slot is still open. The band plays Tinley 7/3 and Alpine 7/5 and 7/6. I wonder if the Summerfest powers that be throw an offer out to the band. I can't see them playing four shows in a row so close to each other, but maybe there's an offer out there they couldn't refuse...

No thank you. Dave's voice couldnt handle that kind of schedule and I'd rather Alpine be good shows.

Totally agree. My post was the random thought, but my take is for the band to be as well rested as possible for the alpine shows.

Yeah, would not be ideal for Dave’s voice. Plus I think summerfest has a radius clause that would keep the band from playing Alpine so close to the summerfest dates. Isn’t that what we ran into last year?

Yeah, Summerfest is what screwed us out of Alpine shows in '14 and '18 so no thank you. It would kill their draw too - essentially 3 shows in the Milwaukee market.

As an aside, the Summerfest headliners this year are TERRIBLE.

Looking for audio taping seats for Alpine Valley N2 in Section 202. Would consider premium, season tickets or $115 level.

    ISO:
Alpine N2 - 202 row HH or closer (only looking for Section 202)

    FT:
    Alpine N1 - PIT (pair)
    Alpine N1 - 202 row QQ (pair)
    Alpine N2 - PIT (pair)
    Alpine N2 - 202 row NN (4 pack)
    Alpine N2 - 201 row Z (pair)

Will trade any combo of my tickets for Alpine N2 Section 202 row HH or closer. These tickets will never be for sale.

    Thanks!

Anyone know what the tailgate situation is like if you take a bus? We usually drive up there and park and tailgate but we have a pretty big group this year so we were gonna rent one of those mega buses. Where they park up are we able to tailgate?

Anyone have interest in a single N1 ticket in 201 T? Seat # is in the 20s so should be a good spot, plus you'd get to be by a pretty fun group

Face + shipping. Send me a PM if interested!

So pumped to see my favorite band back at my favorite place on the planet this summer!!

I apologize if this has already been covered, but is the $39 premier parking worth it? Been while since I've been to Alpine, but remember from previous years that it can take hours to be able get out of the parking lots after the show. Does premier help with being able to exit quicker, or does it just get you closer to the entrance?

Any other perks of the premier parking (early entry, etc).

It just gets you closer to the entrance, but there isn't any kind of 'fast lane' access to get out quicker. The problem with exiting is that there is just the one main roadway out to Highway D.

The key to getting out quickly is to do whatever you can do get ON that roadway as quickly as possible. What we do is park as close to the tree line in the Yellow lot as possible. There is a big, swinging metal gate-thingy at the break in the tree line that separates the Yellow Lot from the bus/RV/Premier area. We have someone hop out of the car, swing that gate open, and actually drive through back *towards* the venue, cut across the bus lot area, and get into the line on the road. Once you do that, you'll be out on the highway within 20 minutes.

The congestion occurs with people pulling out and then trying to funnel into the road from both sides and every angle possible. Once you're actually on the road, you're moving constantly. (Stop and go to let people in, but you're moving.)

Cool, thanks for the info. Curious how you manage to park as close to the tree line in the yellow lot as possible? First off, how do you make sure you're in yellow versus the other lots (blue and green if my memory serves me). And second, when you pull in, don't you just get directed to a specific spot by one of the workers guiding people where to go?

    thanks again

That's the tricky part. You can't 100% control it, but the best way is to ensure that you:

    1. Enter the venue lots from the west side on Highway D (traveling eastbound)
    2. Get into the furthest right lane and keep ensuring you stay as far right as you're able.

That *should* funnel you into the Yellow Lot side. It's not a guarantee, because sometimes they'll open Blue first and funnel ALL traffic into Blue (this happened at least one of the nights in 2016.)

Green is an entirely separate entrance further down the road (you can sometimes get forced into it if you are coming in on D from west to east.) Blue and Yellow use the same main entrance and then split off once you get inside, Blue to the left, Yellow to the right.
