Took forever to be able to select "car". Then the page loads, finally add the reservation and checkout.

It took forever but it says it went through (and my CC was charged). Now I just need the time off work..

The Gorge is an emotional rollercoaster! First we weren't going to go at all due to other very expensive vacation plans, then we were kind of maybe thinking it might be possible, then we were back to a firm "no!" and.... Now we're shuffling things around and we're in 100%. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

    Hi everyone..
We are considering the Gorge this year. I've read through a lot of the board and the FAQ but I'm not seeing a specific answer for this year.
Where do most people stay when staying in a hotel (which hotel name?) I see warehouse offering the Best western, is that a good place or just one that they locked up some dates for?

    Thanks

Hotels are 30 miles away in either direction off I-90, either Moses Lake or Ellensburg, none are great, just typical motels

the best western is a good place to stay hotel wise. there's also a holiday inn in moses lake that is good. I stayed at what I think was knights inn in moses lake once...not a great hotel but got the job done.

How is the drive in when staying at a hotel? Is it pretty easy since most people camp?

To that point, it's better than a typical amp, but there is just one way in (or 2). We've gone out of camping during the day but always back by 4 to avoid the traffic.

I wouldn't go to the Gorge and do a hotel, personally.

80% of the fun is camping and I am not a regular camper.

Unless you did Mason's bus, but I would bet he already has a waiting list.

Also camping at the gorge is a pretty loose term.
Lots of people say they don't camp, would never camp, etc.

I've brought several people to the Gorge the last few years that don't camp, were scared to camp.... and with some coaching they kind of get it now.

All you need is a tent, air mattress, sleeping bag or blanket/sheets.

If you fly Southwest you get 2 free checked bags and can bring this stuff with you on the plane.

Or you can buy a cheap tent and air mattress at Walmart and donate to locals before you leave.

The cost of the extra baggage or buying this stuff onsite is probably less than a hotel for 4 nights.

As for camp, its basically like a massive tailgate for a regular show but we pitch tents as well.

You can eat all of your meals at the pivot from food trucks and vendors.

Nothing beats leaving the show and going back to camp, post-show camp time creates some of my best memories of the trip!! Pizza and gyros at the pivot, hanging out under the lights in our canopies post show, walking around and scoping out the various camps parties or strolling through D-9!

My following post wasn't directed to you, just speaking generally.

If Mason has seats on his bus trip I would definitely look into that!

Hey fellow Gorge peeps! Happy to say I got my Wildhorse spots secured this AM, but that was pretty harrowing for a second there. Sold out in, like, under 10 mins for sure.

For those who were wondering about Wildhorse, I swear by it. It's definitely not a rager like D9, but it is a great fuckin time nonetheless. People go hard during the day, and everyone is super friendly. Jam sessions, people handing out booze, selling 420 treats and art. They have some local live acts play on a small stage. Volleyball, whiffle ball, cornhole games. And of course drinking games at like every tent.

And the FOOD--man the food is actually legit great. Breakfast all cooked to order, not long waits. The Wildburger is one of the better burgers I've had, but they also always have specials, pulled pork, fish tacos, that kinda thing. They have a huge smoker they usually throw something in one of the days that's a real treat.

The last few years they've been doing a Night -1 (Wednesday) for an extra $20 a car, which includes a HUGE feast (they roasted a full pig one year)--fresh oysters being shucked, a few kegs of local brews. They have a Filipino guy, I'm forgetting his name, who is basically head chef and does authentic lumpia--.

Not to mention hot showers and free coffee in the morning for all.

The bus rides over to the venue are short and always fun as hell. Everyone loading up together, so amped for the shows. It's just a great way to start the concert experience.

As far as quiet hours, people definitely stay up partying to their heart's content as long as that does not infringe on anyone else's good time. Just don't scream obnoxiously and keep your music at a reasonable level. I've only ever seen somebody be asked to keep it down maybe three times, and this will be my seventh year going. Albeit, most are pretty much turning in an hour or so after the show, but those who do stay up are welcome to.

Anyway, just singin my praises for Wildhorse. If you're able to, def give it a shot one year, or find a spot for this year. They usually pop up on the boards for people with changes of plans.

    So pumped already!

I am sure Wildhorse is great, tons of my friends love it.

At this point it's sold out....

Yes, a few may pop up for sale but those are also gone instantly.

I also feel like at this point, there are a few WH regulars who were probably shut out and are going to be dying to get those passes so they can camp with friends.

If anyone is new to the Gorge or a first timer, doesn't have any friends camping at WH, they should look at the venue camping.

Where is the "WHERE SHOULD I CAMP" diagram when I need it lol??

But that's just my two cents.

Always room for everyone over in premier

(as long as they get their passes during the onsale!)
