Good to know about the milkshakes from TH having the lactose. Only had a couple TH beers, but no milkshakes. For the beers that I drink on a regular basis, I can only for sure say that Other Half is using lactose in a few of their brews right now, and they have only being doing that for like the last 6 months from what I can recall.

My dad was working in Pittsburgh and told me a funny story about how his Uber driver almost refused to take him to Voodoo Brewing Company since it's in a bad area. He brought back a 32oz crowler of one of their DIPAs and Im pretty sure it's on my top 10 list.

Finally cracked my CBS last night. I think it definitely lives up to the hype. Just such a smooth finish, not boozy, great flavor. One of the only 5/5 beers I’ve rated on Untappd.

I gave it a 3.75. It just wasn’t what I was hoping for. Beers like Funky Buddha’s ‘Morning Wood’ just blow it out of the water for me.

Anybody enjoy Terrapin out of Athens, GA? I work for MillerCoors and we recently started distributing Terrapin last year. I’ve been drinking that ever since we acquired it. I usually pick up the IPA Survival Kit.

I think I had a Terrapin IPA when I was at Atlanta airport. I picked up a Prairie Pirate Noir today. They had that and Pirate Bomb but I really can't justify paying $12 for a 12 oz bottle when there is so much good beer out there.

Finally cracked a CBS on Saturday night, and it was better than I expected it to be. I see a lot of people shitting on this batch, but I really enjoyed it.

To each his own. The past few months I've been expanding my horizons on the stout/porter front and CBS was easily the best I've had in the ~15-20 I've picked up since about October. I'm sure there are other great ones out there but as far as my own taste and experience, CBS was top-notch.

Nice, man. Only picked up one since I was unsure whether I'd even like it. Next time it comes around I will have to pick up a few. They're good for a special occasion and sharing with friends. Drinking the whole bottle to myself became a chore toward the last 1/4. A delicious chore, but a chore nonetheless.

I haven't tried it before so I don't have any point of reference to compare this batch to others, but you won't hear any complaints out of me. Super drinkable and very enjoyable. Even my wife liked it and she despises dark beer.

Assuming this means a trip to Vermont? If so, and you're near/in the Burlington area, Foam is a must stop. Would recommend over Alchemist big time, but this is coming from someone who has had their fill of Alchemist. Definitely understand the want to try it.

I'll second the Foam recommendation. The great thing about VT is how easy it is to get to all of the different towns and breweries. So even if you do go to the Alchemist...Burlington is only like an hour or so away. Great bars there also. Hill Farmstead is also a must while out there. I could spend a week in Vermont easily....I loved it out there.

beer nerds at their best here. The beer is the same as it was in 2011 and in 2014. The issue here is that people remember the first time they had it....and at that time it was this mega whale with all of the hype attached and there was really nothing else like it on the market. So most of these people have added about 6 more years of drinking to their experience AND there are now other beers that are aged in maple bourbon barrels and/or have maple syrup adjuncts added. A brewery like Founders doesn't build the success they've built with inconsistency in brewing. I get that barrel aging a beer adds some level of variability that they can't control...but I'll never buy that explanation as the reason a batch is "not close" to the original. I think it has more to do with someone who spent 6 more years drinking other beers, refining their own palate, building the hype train in their own mind, and then being let down because the batch isn't "as good". It's the same beer....same as it always was.....peoples taste is what develops over time.

I walked into a store on Sunday and they had a few bottles of CBS sitting there. I wasn't planning on searching for the beer, but I couldn't pass it up. The woman there said she had some chilled, too, if I preferred.

My buddy has some on the shelf at his store. He got an extra case. It's not flying off the shelves though here, especially at $27 a bottle for a beer that isn't better than KBS.

Picked up 3 obligatory cans of hopslam today. Also got 2 cans of BA ten fidy which I’ve never had.

Hopslam was 7 days old and delicious. No strong honey flavor on the finish.

I will say that CBS was better on draft for me than the bottle. That was more of a 4.25 rating.

    Anyone want to buy Smuttynose?

    http://www.seacoastonline.com/news/2...old-at-auction

I'm surprised InBev hasn't already scooped it up.

It's a shame really... seems as though they got too big at the wrong time (right when the microbrew market was blowing up). I just wonder if this will start to be a trend... there's a lot of breweries of this size (or slightly smaller) that have lots of beer that just sits on the shelves b/c there's so many options. Even Stoneface, which is much smaller and a much better product, is almost impossible to find fresh these days. There's just too much of it around.

Congrats on the move! I've been less active with my beer purchasing the last 6+ months but feel free to hit me up when you're out there and we can see if we can do something.
