i'm well aware of the colloquialism, i mentioned it a few pages back. but if you're calling NY style "real pizza", then why do NYers not call it pizza? it's much more common for them to say "pie" or "a slice", in my experience. if it's the real deal, why use alternative names?
i'd rather have an actual pie of pizza (a deep dish pizza) than a soggy tortilla with tomato paste and some Kraft shredded cheese on it.
