am primarily a fan of the 'classic' versions of songs. With that said, there are many renditions of songs...so my interpretation of 'classic' might be different than others. examples:

Dean Martin - let it snow
Ray Charles - that spirit of christmas

An annoyance during this time of year is the fact that every single musician seems to think they need to release a christmas album and those tend to suck. However, there are some treats that arise (i.e. Lisa Hannigan singing "Silent Night" and appropriate covers - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVHKmuccOzI)

Frank Sinatra Christmas album and Bela Fleck are vinyls that spin regularly during the holidays.

This. My fav Christmas song by far. I tend to love the Carols with religious content more than Jingle Bells or Frosty. I'm definitely gonna be getting Sufjan's stuff (is it one album? Or is it a bunch?)
