Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe Fandom (MCUc)

First of all, I'm curious to see how this Tony/Nebula in space thing gets fleshed out, just because, they're obviously on the Guardians' ship (what she traveled to Titan in crashed), and while it's not necessarily capable of faster-than-speed-of-light travel, it can still go long distance in comparatively short periods. It's not like if they only had one of our space shuttles to get home. plus I'd have to think there's a decent chance Nebula would be able to chart a course more or less toward Earth.

the Russos had sporadically all summer been addressing when asked certain characters' Snapture fate that hadn't been explicitly shown on screen, and they'd said that Shuri, BP's girlfriend and mother had all survived. But now we see Shuri's photo included in that array of who's gone. But of course, the characters in that moment also believe Scott Lang is dusted and there he shows up. Also, we now can't deny the possibility that they've been bullshitting whenever they've provided an individual "answer" like that, since they certainly lied about the title
I mean I didn't really have any trouble believing them before on that because the Russos have never really played it like that with the press and the public (as opposed to someone like Steven Moffat). They'll like maybe dodge around answers with a little smirk, they haven't typically flat out lied.
well and as much as "End Game" might be a nice title, I don't see how that would've been spoiler to the degree of being detrimental. Since the start of them making both films Kevin Feige and pretty much everyone there had been very clear on this being a "conclusion" of the first decade. In that regard it seems like a pretty obvious title.

oh and something that came up with that Q&A they just did last week after an IW screening, and given how many times I've seen the movie I cannot believe I'd never noticed this before.

Recall that when even though Thanos pulls off getting to accomplish the snap, Thor does get him pretty damn good with the abdomen shot with Stormbreaker. It's a pretty significant wound, right before he uses the Space stone one last time to zoink himself out of Wakanda, you see the axe there on the ground and got blue blood all over it. And yet in that final shot of the movie of Thanos chilling out with the sunset, his chest looks pretty damn good, mostly healed. Basically the person at the Q&A asked how long that moment occurs after the actual snap, and Joe Russo just had this big grin and went "hmmm... good question". I'm starting to wonder if that little Thanos moment won't have even happened until most (if not all) of the events of "End Game" have taken place.

My guess is captain marvels entrance to the movie will be running into iron man in the nick of time

The title of Avengers 4 also wasn’t said during Infinity War.

So I think I mentioned this a while back, but the wife and I are going to watch every MCU film in order until Endgame comes out. We’re going to do one per weekend (including the Captain Marvel release, of course), and today is Iron Man. We’re actually going to have to double up one weekend since Endgame got bumped up a week, but it should be a fun journey!

no I'm thinking mthawk is saying that sarcastically. That because the party line from the Russos and Feige forever was that the A4 title is never spoken in dialog during Infinity War as their way of perpetuating the secret. but they obviously alllllll this time were straight up fibbing. Which, again, i had little trouble buying into that from the start because the Russos didn't really typically play things that way in their career.

What junior said. They fibbed about the Avengers 4 title to throw people off, so my point is, take everything Feige/Marvel says to promote a movie with a grain of salt.

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe Fandom (MCUc)

I brought this up on the Infinity War thread, but figured it might be better suited to bring over here for the sake of discussion.

I've seen fans speculating that Thor could be the one to save Tony from his current predicament by using the Bifrost. Technically, since Thor has the Bifrost, he can travel anywhere, even a point in space (I think). BUT, Heimdall was able to see every living soul anywhere in existence, as was his power, and then transport to them using the Bifrost. Thor does not have this particular power. So I think Thor being Tony's savior might be tough, but we will see.

HOWEVER, this logic I'm using comes into question when thinking about Thor's arrival in Wakanda. How did he know of the ongoing battle there after forging Stormbreaker? Some have said this might be some kind of Odinsight he acquired when he became the new All-Father, but this hasn't been confirmed as far as I know.

    Thoughts?

Newest trailer for Captain Marvel is the best look yet at the plot and action of the film. It also seems as if Marvel heard the complaints about Brie Larson's lack of personality in the first two trailers and put in a few more fun lines for this one.

Grabbed my opening night IMAX tix last night.

Still not overly excited for it.

Wonder if Avengers: Endgame will get any type of small Super Bowl plug like last year. To be honest I am good with as little as possible being shown from it.

I'm not just saying this to troll/shit-talk because that's not my style, but there is nothing about Captain Marvel that grabs me in any way. Does not look good, at all. And it's been said before but Brie Larson's acting in this seems so dull and uninspired. Obviously hard to tell based just on the trailers but it just seems flat-out bad.

I’d be 100% ok with it if we never got another second of early footage from Endgame. That teaser was so perfect, there’s nothing else they need to show. Granted, that’s not how advertising works, but it would be a bold move if they just stuck with that one trailer.

I swear this isn't a Super Friends team-up, but I agree. I may have been one of the ones that mentioned her acting, because that was the first thing I noticed as it really doesn't come off well in the trailers. Honestly, Phase 4 may start to lose me. I really wish they ended this whole thing with Endgame, but alas...Hollywood $$$$$ That said, I'm psyched for Endgame!
