I have Dolby Cinema in the same theater so may have to check that out later.
Is Christopher Nolan the only director that uses IMAX the right way? I remember a year ago being very excited that Avengers was going to be shot completely in IMAX....sucks that was kind of just a lie.

Last time I spoke with a higher up at IMAX they said, "I wish all film makers were of the same mind as Chris Nolan, then we would have no problem keeping those IMAX fans happy"
I was complaining about Rian Johnson's absurd decision to matte all the scenes he shot with IMAX film cameras for The Last Jedi at 2.39:1
Definitely check out Dolby Cinema given we know Avengers will be a true 4K workflow...the screen is also very large and may be comparable in size to Digital IMAX even though it won't come near to full screen IMAX, but the jump in picture quality moving from xenon based 2K projectors to 4K laser projectors is massive and Digital IMAX is 5.1 vs. Dolby Atmos...I'm sure it Dolby Cinema will be the winner but I'll be interested to hear your opinion if you see it in both formats.
There are a couple others, Brad Bird filmed some scenes of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocal with IMAX cameras shown in full 1.43:1 AR in IMAX 15/70 screens, JJ Abrams did the "Escape from Jakku" scene from The Force Awakens in full 1.43:1 AR (I saw it in IMAX with Laser, it was ridiculously good) and shot various scenes in Star Trek: Into Darkness with IMAX film cameras (1.43:1 in full screen venues) - hopefully he'll do much more than one scene for the final Star Wars movie.
But yeah, Christopher Nolan definitely gets it right. Unlike those other movies, he does all his interpositives and editing entirely in the film realm and only right at the end is a 4K DI created for digital projection. I saw Dunkirk in both 15/70 IMAX and IMAX with Laser and despite the 15/70 having the advantage in pure resolution (running through the 65mm negative vs. a 4K digital source) the Laser IMAX handily won in all other categories.
