Check out the LIOG from the return of #34 show from 7/9/05. That one is up there for me on the list.

Great episode on the Northeast run. I enjoyed it a lost (specifically because I was at the Mansfield show you covered). Love the acoustic Raven > Spoon and the Two Step. Its the most unique Two Step I've ever heard and I'm glad you guys covered it! Great stuff as always!

Thanks! It was great to have had Nolan attend a few of the Mansfield shows to give us some more perspective there for sure

We are working on our "Southern Swing" episode right now which will likely come out late this week/early next week. Then we will round out the East Coast portion of the tour with West Palm, and THEN we have a special interview to share........stay tuned

Loved the Mansfield part of the last podcast, that #34 was my first show and I forgot about Cornbread E1 in '07

I was definitely luck to be there, definitely not lucky to start seeing DMB in '05

I agree, Roi's ability (or should I say willingness since Jeff is obviously capable) to play randomly throughout sections is something I miss with current DMB and this is a good example of it which you pointed out

Enjoyed the southern swing episode(s) and I am looking forward to next weeks WPB episode. It’s kind of like my home venue being from Florida.

Also, very exciting news about the interview the following week. I’m excited for you guys, and can’t wait to listen. I had the chance to meet him and his wife after a show in Boone a couple years back. You are absolutely right, such a genuinely friendly person. Can’t wait to hear a conversation between him and two big DMB fans.

Also just wanted to add, whatever happened to the little “what are you drinking“ segment? I know it’s random, and maybe no one else cared lol, but I was often intrigued by Bruce and Nolan’s selections.

Glad you enjoyed this week! Hopefully we chose a good show for everyone for WPB!

We think the interview is going to be a great listen. He was very talkative and tells a lot about his history and a few stories along the way. Great stuff DMB and nDMB related!

As far as the beers are concerned, we started recording in the mornings and early afternoons during the week when we have had an hour or so free, so we haven’t been drinking anything haha. We’d like that part to return too trust us haha

Really enjoyed the Southeast episode! My first show was Raleigh 04 as well I was only 14. Loved hearing the highlights of my main venues over the years!

Really appreciate you listening! We need to bring the beers back for sure. If we keep doing it in the mornings I'm gonna have to start plugging coffee haha

That's awesome! Do you have any cool memories from that show or were you like me and it all just kinda runs together now? Any other things that have stood out to you over the years at these venues?

I was such a casual fan in 04 that I honestly only knew Satellite, Ants Marching, #41, and Tripping Billies from that Raleigh set. My brother gave me Luther College for Christmas the year prior. Don't think we knew how lucky we were to get a Stone opener at our first show lol. I vividly remember the Raleigh 06 set being awesome with Carter rocking the Canes jersey of course. One of my oldest friends was with me at his first show and I remember him being in awe of Dave's intense screams during the ABI E1 before going into Two Step closer.

Sooo many good Charlotte shows over the years I don't know where to start but that JTR last year more than made up for the JTR tease from 2013 (one of my favorite sets). Really looking forward to the Bela interview guys!

    It really was!

He took us for a quick virtual tour of his home studio showing us quite a few banjos including a one of a kind banjo from the 1930s. Unreal

Agreed, that was an awesome interview all around. Really enjoyed hearing him talk about seeing Return to Forever with Stanley Clarke and Lenny White in 75, and all the conversation about playing with Sam Bush and the New Grass Revival era.

I think the most interesting note was that he played Trax back when Dave was tending bar. That and the fact that Vic and Carter were pals back in the day. Thanks Nolan and Bruce for putting this together and giving all the DMB community a really fun and insightful look into Béla Fleck’s history with the band.

Did he say exactly when the new bluegrass album would be dropping?

Really solid interview. Not just the answers from Bela but the content of the whole interview. Some great questions in there, lots of real enjoyable discussion. Didn't sound like two yahoos asking questions of a famous musician at all, which is very easy to fall into. Loved listening to every minute of it, especially the non dmb stuff. Obviously the DMB stuff is more interesting to me, but the other stuff was intriguing.

Keep 'em coming, guys. When's the Fonz interview? Could probably get BT pretty easily...

Oohh yea, having Boyd on the pod would be very interesting (as long as he’s coherent enough). Would love to know what the current relationship is with him and the guys. I wonder if they have spoke with each other even just once since everything went down...prob not.
