A shoehorn is this. It's for wedging a foot into a shoe. When applied to conversation, it's meant to describe a topic that's being shoved into a conversation when it really doesn't fit or apply. So you wanted to try to make a snappy and edgy comment, so you "shoe horned" the whole Bernie/handouts thing into a DMB pricing conversation.

That's actually a great point on the PIT tickets. Doesn't make sense that a premium pit is $325 and a non-premium put is $115.

I was referring to the premium assigned seats earlier, but you're onto something with the PITs

Because you're buying a premium experience that goes along with that ticket. The value of that experience is on the face of the ticket. That's why the face value between the two tickets would be different.

Now if you want to debate the worth/value of them, that's another discussion.

All I can say is I’ll bet 100 bucks that the warehouse will crucify you for selling just the tickets for 325 each

Ill test my theory in a couple months by making a fake FS thread over there in the warehouse for SPAC premiums. Tickets only for 680. Should be interesting

Face value is literally what is printed on the face of the ticket.

Whether a Premium seat is worth more than the non-premium near it is certainly up for debate. Either way, it’s not scalping.

Serious question - does the warehouse even ban scalping? I thought they just will-called your tickets if they suspect it. I purchased a pair of tickets to Alpine two years ago for way over face value and sure enough when they came in the mail - warehouse tickets.

I can't imaging the $35 yearly fee is going to stop any scalpers. Not when they can double or triple their money if they get PIT/Lowers.

If someone (the buyer, or anyone who sees a clear enough image of the tickets on eBay/Craigslist/etc) chooses to, they can turn the scalper in and the WH has been known to revoke said scalper's membership in that situation.

Yes, they do. They have threads every year about members who have scalped their tickets.

I remember the "face value" discussion last year when Spac had those premium seats that were like $500+ each. I doubt the actual face value on those tickets was different, but I don't know anyone who purchased them so I can't say that with any certainty. It's the same situation, though. The price increase is due to the pluses that come with the ticket price.

Glad to see they're actually doing something about scalping - doesn't appear in most cases like they care or are aware (my guess is Dave is relatively unaware and much of management doesn't care to do anything about it)

BurbonSong straight scammed people, at least a half dozen, out of money promising D&T Nola tickets. Still posting; still selling tickets. Why would WH give up $35 a year?

UFSoccer got membership revoked on joke thread "who wants my ATL pits for $1,000 each?" which came out of some scalping discussion. He called them and eventually argued it down to just will call.

I know four 12/98 members; all 5 of us are will call. I don't know of a single non-12/98 member who is will call

I was on the will-call list for a while because they "caught" me selling my Alpine tickets. Even after I proved that I sold them for face, they kept me on it.

Took a long ass point by point letter to get myself off of it.

This is what I assumed. It's unfortunate they don't do even the small things to counter scalping. Selling your best tickets for below market value AND not doing anything to control scalping is a gold mine for scalpers. If you're going to price your tickets low, you'd at least hope the band would take anti-scalping measures.

I guess they're ok with people who have nothing to do with the creative process profiting off them.

It does, they charge you then reimburse you later sometime after the tickets don't ship
