There have been 754 song performances in the 2018 Summer Tour...

and only 2 song performances have come from AFTW (Rooftop, twice).

What do you make of that?

If AFTW slips into obscurity going forward, will it suddenly become a cult-classic among DMB fans?

It’s classic Dave, leave behind good songs for no apparent reason. Snow Outside should be regularly played and is classic DMB

Drunked Solider and Snow Outside should get regular play. I'm also surprised he doesn't push Mercy being a left wing nut.

I like a lot of aftw. Musically I think it’s very good. Broken Things is probably my favorite from that album. Gaucho..... what could have been if it had good lyrics in the chorus . Would certainly take a few of the songs at a show

In all fairness though, Dave has played Mercy at least 6 times this year. Not officially on the "summer tour" I know, but he did play it last month on NPR.

It appears as though the band, and Dave specifically, don't care for the album. Which is par for the course with Dave - shelve material that you worked hard on and is good, while playing trash songs that were recorded between games of wiffle ball in the backyard of Haunted Hollow.

Almanac Says 738.. But what you can also make from looking at the almanac is right around 1/3 of their songs played have been played 1,2 or 3 times this whole summer.. They've been recycling the same 40-50 songs all summer and just plugging in 2-3 rarities or different songs at every show. Granted its an album tour, but this has been way to predictable of a year.

You would hear no complaints from me if that album went away and was never heard from again. There is not one song on there I would ever want to hear at a show or listen to on my own

I think that Snow Outside would return should they one day have a fall or winter tour!

Overall, to give the songs a break will allow them to really decide which ones they like, and decide whether to include them next year.

Outside of Snow Outside or Broken Things, I have no desire to see any AFTW songs getting play time. Give me a handful of ‘12-‘13 shows released as LTs and that’s good enough for me.
