I never thought I'd say this because I've basically hated Tyler's work up to this point, but Flower Boy is a top 10 record from this year for me. No doubt. I didn't know he had it in him.

    If you like rap, I'm really enjoying Anik Khan- Kites. i'm not huge on rap, but this album has been on repeat for me.

    Flower Boy is a refreshing departure from the overdrawn and artifical horrorcore thing and lets him be creative and genuine. I've always known him to be a great producer and a talented rapper but he seemed to try to hard to portray a villainous character. He doesn't seem to care about that here and I almost feel the chains loosening up while I'm listening to it.

    Been absolutely obsessed with Adrienne Lenker and Big Thief the past few weeks. She's such a brilliant songwriter. Love Masterpiece, and Capacity has done nothing but grow on me since my first listen a few months back. Can't wait to see what they have in store down the road a few years.

    ^I agree with that sentiment. I've been replaying Big Thief a ton this year.

    I put this song on my best songs list so no surprise, but I'm a bit obsessed with this performance of City Music by Kevin Morby. Sounds so crisp and grooved.

    Archspire - Relentless Mutation*

    Goodness, this lives up to its name — just brutal, unrelenting death metal that changes shape so many times within the same four-minute songs.

    It's probably not for everyone with the Cookie Monster vocals, but the combination of technical ability and speed is impressive.

    Edit: It's also about as different as it gets from Björk and her pretty, lush, almost ambient soundscapes.
