They are great live...Live @ Heineken Music Hall is one of my favorite live albums of all time.

I'll keep my eyes and ears open for ya

The one from the end of April discusses the set up for the tour. It's down there a bit but it's worth the read, trust me.

Glad it worked for ya! I was just stumbling around their site and clicked on the more info link for the Cincy show and someone posted the password. It sounds like these shows this summer will be a lot of fun with Augustana on board.

    Re: Counting Crows

saw the traveling circus and rebel rocker show last saturday in Houston.

great fucking show! i got a few songs i haven't seen before, and some new alt endings.

the one thing that was obvious to me is that amateur concert goers suck. i guess i'm pretty blessed to follow bands who have fans that are pretty hard core and know how to enjoy a show with out being a complete ass.

i'm not saying "counting crows fans suck" because that's just not the case. i do think that some bands bring out people to a show that aren't avid concert goers and in hand, don't know how to appropriately act or are not up on their concert attending "rules".

basically... don't make an ass of yourself, don't be an elbow thrower to get to the front at a GA show because you were late, don't drop your beer bottles on the ground because you're too lazy to find a trash can, and by god... DON'T SCREAM IN THE MICS AND THEN ASK THE TAPER "is that gonna be on the tape? sweet!!!!" no one wants to hear you on the tape but yourself. yell in your own house while listening later. fuck. (this guy also has a .03 ratio on the torrent)

if you're a real CC fan (ie, not one of the people who say "why didn't dmb play crash tonight?! omg?! how could they NOT play crash? waaaaaaah") you should have a great time.

the collaborations and songs they've been bringing out of hiding on this tour is great!

I'd say I know and love a good 90% of their catalog. Any good places you want to suggest where I can check out some recent setlists?

I saw them in 2007 and thought they were great, but their performance in cincy this year was very disappointing. The just hearing the lead singer from Augustana sing Adam's lines really bothered me. I didn't mind the collaboration on the covers and some of the obscure songs, but I paid to hear adam sing on the classics like rain king.

I couldn't disagree with you more. My show was last night and it was 100 times better than I thought it would be. I didn't know what to expect and exactly HOW MUCH collaboration was being done, but between Augustana (who I knew nothing about before and now definitely enjoy and am impressed by) and Michael Franti/Spearhead (who completely stole the show), it made for an unreal concert experience.

They all kept switching in and out of each other's bands, guesting, all playing together, did some fantastic covers, and the Crows still were able to pull out a good 7-8 songs that most of the crows fans there would be able to really appreciate. Then all 3 bands were all on stage together was absolutely the bast part of the show.

Oh, and Adam is still f'in psychotic

I cannot even explain how badass the show was last night. I have to find the setlist.

I've been listening to Counting Crows a lot lately, particularly August and Everything After. I've always been a "moderate" fan, I guess you could say... meaning I knew a lot of their songs, had a few albums, but didn't really dive into them that much. But man oh man, I recently started to really get into their lyrics and some of them are just incredible. It is probably not a good thing to relate to a lot of them (especially the earlier songs), but Adam has a gift - for better or worse - of perfectly explaining some really tough moments and emotions. He's such a great songwriter.

Perfect Blue Buildings, Time and Time Again, Speedway, High Life, Anna Begins... just to name a few. Glad I sort of rediscovered and developed a bigger appreciation for them in the last couple months.

I really hope they tour this year again and specifically play the woodlands or even the horse track like they did here last year. I dig me some counting crows.

I do however hope they ditch augustana but do the same thing with another cool band.

Yeah I did the same thing a couple years ago. This Desert Life and August and Everything After are amazing albums. Every now and then I'll get hooked on one of those two for a few days at a time.

^ Outstanding performance of A Long December. I've been listening to these guys for a while tonight. They are truly awesome. It's shame most people only know them for Accidentally in Love and Mr. Jones.

The Traveling Circus and Medicine Show is coming to SPAC. Counting Crows featuring Augustana and other guests. From what I've heard, these shows are pretty epic. Just wanted to top this thread to see if anyone had seen this type of Crows show.

late at night, especially driving, there's nothing better than a little CC.

i know it got a lot of flack, and aaea is my favorite studio still, but hard candy has always held a special place in my heart especially up all night and all my friends.
