Re: Grown Up Type Stuff

Worst "grown up type thing" is working through being sick. Ya know sick but not projectile vomit/diarrhea sick. Ohh to be 10 again and just have mom call the nurse to say you wont be in today.

people look at me funny when i tell them my goal in life

That's an awesome goal. I share the same goal. Would be an awesome life for sure. Sex may feel better but there is nothing comparable to a new pair of socks.

    Re: Grown Up Type Stuff

a quick search for socks lead me to find the average price for a standard pair of socks seems to be like $1.75/pair. that comes out to be $52.50 a month and $638.75 a year to buy a new pair of socks for every day of the year. even higher quality socks that might be $2.50 a pair would still only be $912.50 a year. while that is a lot of money to spend just on socks, thats not that insane of a total price. i'm sure most people spend $50 a month on far worse than having new, comfy socks.

    EDIT - i'm bored

A while back (maybe a year?) I had $20 to spend at Kohls and it expired that day. I didn't know what to buy, so I found a 7 pack of socks that was on sale, buy one get one 50% off. The one package of 7 pairs was $14, so two packages (14 pairs) was $21. Minus my $20 and 15% employee discount I think I paid less than a buck for two week's worth of new socks. Easily the best purchase I've ever made. Was able to throw away ALL of my old socks, and I had a new pair of socks to wear every day for two weeks. God that was an awesome two weeks.

I think I'm going to spend about $200 on socks to give myself for Christmas and then have an entirely separate laundry hamper for them. I never confidently know that I have a clean pair of matching socks.

I accomplished one of my life goals earlier this year, which was throw out all my white socks, then buy several packages of identical ones at target, now every white sock I have is the same.

What I just described pretty much is my goal for the end of the year

I need to seek out every sock I currently own, toss the ones that don't match, buy 20 new pairs, and watch them like a hawk.

we MUST be getting older. remember in all the christmas movies how the kids always got socks and hated them? now, here we are, wanting new socks

and i have a huge drawer in my dresser dedicated to my socks. there have to be dozens of pairs of socks. i could probably go a couple months before needing to do laundry. a bunch of them are old and stretched out though. i should probably just get rid of them and buy more new ones.

I too have done the sock purge in the past. I threw all of them out and bought 18 pairs that were identical. Haven't lost a pair yet.

I ordered something from Amazon yesterday, placed the order in time to have guaranteed delivery by today. It's not. Their shipping policy says if it's not delivered in time, I can get the shipping refunded. Anybody know how? I don't see a link on their policies for how to contact them.
