"Do Nothing" President does not fit Trump at all. Calvin Coolidge was a do-nothing President. He sat on his porch in a rocking chair and never did anything. He was public about his opinion that the President should do nothing of import. The most he ever did was sign a couple vetoes and say to Congress "hey come on guys, let's not go and change anything, life is good."



THAT is a do-nothing President.




Trump is a "Tried and Failed" President. Cannot lump him in with the seat-warmer Presidents at all.

The one distinction I think some righties (not really in here, just in general) are missing is destruction vs not being displayed out in parks and shit.

The statues should not be destroyed, and I have no problem with the (at least one) person I saw arrested for tearing down the Lee one that crumpled under it's own weight. Save them, keep them, put them in a confederate or civil war museum, I don't care. But I don't think these are people we should put on literal pedestals out in the open like they are something we should be prideful about.

That's the different I think people miss. (assuming most libs agree with me, which I think is the case).

I don't think we should ignore that history. I just don't think we should celebrate it.

Some people can't see to comprehend that statues and monuments are celebratory/honorary in their nature. There is no reason we need to be celebrating people who so profoundly backed something like slavery.

That's not erasing history, that's just taking down shit that celebrates it and putting it where it belongs: in a museum.
