I really like this lineup. I mean for me w/ the headliners along with Pigeons Playing, Marcus King, Ripe, Steel Pulse, Bad Religion and Dropkicks do it.
Add in the classic appeal of Joan Jett and the B-52's who I presume most of us would never see but for this festival (ie., me last year with Blondie who rocked) and you have yourself two full days of fun.
Jake Clemons being 'at large' is incredible. However, we all know the The Boss is unpredictable. I mean he came out last year with Social D and ripped Ring of Fire meanwhile everyone is posted up for Jack Johnson waiting for the The Boss to sit-in. Given this lineup though seems primed for a Jake Clemons & Springsteen guest spot with DMB.
Listening to this Rainbow Kitten now and I'm digging it. If you haven't heard Pigeons Playing Ping Pong yet they are a really fun funky jam band who will put on a great set.

Ive seen them 4 times now, get better every time. They came up in Asheville and mutual friends were friends with them when they were still only on soundcloud.

Honestly, 3 perfect albums start to finish. Show them to everyone I know who likes music & the majority get hooked.

PPPP is really good.

I had a pipe dream Bruce would join DMB at the Atlantic City Caravan in 2011 so I don't expect much there but Jake should be involved in different sets including DMB for sure.

Exactly that. The supporting acts make it more likely Bruce will come out with DMB. I wouldn't read too much into his no-show in AC b/c Asbury is his true home and he lives much closer. Plus, Jake haha

I'm hopeful that Bruce would come out with DMB but I think we will at least see him with Dropkick if they play Rose Tattoo since he was on the studio version.

Still looking at a viable place to stay for the weekend. We've found a few AirBnB's that will work but they're a little further from the venue than i really want. I was tossing around the idea of camping, and found a campground 20min. away called Allaire State Park. Anyone know anything about the location?

While I've been to Allaire I have no information about camping there. I was there to look at it as a wedding venue and for a food festival. The grounds are beautiful with some historic buildings and I think a small shop or two. Depending how far the AirBnBs are compared to the grounds and the price savings, kinda just depends what you're looking for. Sorry I don't have more info. on the camping!

Looking into buying tickets but not sure it is worth it if they just play for an hour or something like that.

Can anyone that went last year give a general idea about how far/long the walk from your car to the gates would be? Trying to figure out how logical it would be to pack a cooler of snacks and what not and some possible necessities

There is not a big festival specific parking area. It is on a small shore town so I think it all boils down to where you can find a spot. Most of it is paid parking as well. There is a parking map link on the information page. Also they are very very strict on what can be brought in (backpacks, large purses, ect.) are a no go so I highly doubt a cooler. They are recommending empty small hydration backpacks, only string bags, and small purses. I dont think any beverages or food will be allowed in. So you gotta make your days accommodations pretty light.

I did not attend last year but the website is pretty strict.

As for parking, everything Verarino said is accurate. There are no large lots or even decks in the area. It is mostly street parking that you have to pay for. Get there as early as possible each day as parking will be difficult. They are strict about what they will let into the festival and stuck strongly to the 'no back back' rule and were only allowing draw string bags. Plenty of water refill stations on site so definitely bring an empty bottle with you.

I have an airbnb booked up in Long Branch and it says it's about six miles away from Asbury Park. I am assuming it's flat (or at least flat compared to the mountains of NC where I'm from) and have been seeing that people say parking is an issue. Is there a good route to ride a bike from Long Branch to the venue? Is is safe to ride about six miles back to my airbnb in the dark each night?

I've also seen that there's a bus line between Long Branch and Asbury Park, any info or recommendations on that?

I used to live in Long Branch, there is a nice easy ride down Ocean Avenue from Long Branch to Asbury Park I used to run it all the time. The ride should be safe. You likely wont encounter any people at all when you are passing through Deal and Elberon. There are some sketchy areas in Long Branch but if you are staying in West End or the Pier Village area you won't have a problem.

Parking there is an issue, There is a bar called Clancy's Tavern right next to the train station. I always park there when I go to Asbury and have never had any issues. It is in a strip mall with a 7-11 and several other stores. There are signs that say you can't park there but how are they going to know who works there and who doesn't. Just don't make it obvious you are a festival goer and don't leave your vehicle there overnight.

While you are in Long Branch check out Jack's and The Celtic Cottage great food. Jack's is probably the best sports bar on the Jersey Shore.
