with Buddy Strong in the lineup now, I'd actually be interested to hear how a Jimi Thing jam would play out.

PLEASE no Sexy M.F. ending, though.

Hello Again was a nice touch. But, its mind-blowing that Dave is so out of touch with what people enjoy for their 100 bucks for a ticket and 9 bucks for a shitty light beer. Stand Up ought to have never, ever, ever seen the light of day again. And the live version is worse than the studio version, if that's possible.

They setlists seem o.k. on paper. Nothing too crazy, but I was pretty happy with the Hello Again liberation. Would love to see GGT, Crazy Easy, Sugar Will and other songs from that era make a return. I don't think anything is off limits this tour, including some cool covers due to Buddy being pretty fucking awesome. They sound good so far, and I'm here for the post Boyd era. Stand Up is trash though. Hate it.

I saw it. If you thought that was good, then you and I can't discuss music, because that song, done as well as it could be done, is a donkey turd covered in cheese and another donkey turd.

Is this really a question? You've seen the set lists right? I know we can do with the SU and Bayou repetition, but to say the sets are "weak" I don't think is anywhere near accurate. Bayou, #27, WYA, SU, Steady as we Go, Hello Again all liberated, dab of new songs which all sound pretty good, mid set Rapunzel, dope Recently, unreal versions of Crush, Dallas and Austin encores, and many more great songs all over these sets - too many to list. I don't know how you look at these factors and say set lists are weak. No, the band is no going to play every one of your favorite songs or ideal set lists every night. This thread is plain stupid.

I would take Fool To Think & What You Are over Jimi off that list. The rest I could live without for the rest of the band's existence.

The sets thus far have been B to B- at best.

Busting out Stand Up tunes is the wrong move.

Re: Anyone else think these setlists are weak

Honestly i would NOT use the word weak to describe these sets. After all the BS we have gone through the last few months (tickets being more expensive, BT tweets hours after tickets go on sale, the album, the whole BT situation) I was NOT at all looking forward to this summer tour. For the first time since 2008. After this weekend thats changed due to these setlists.

What is awesome about these sets is that the band is taking chances and not just playing it safe, as i thought they would with no BT and a new band member. I mean shit that ABI interpolation at the end of LITHOG is something thats been missing from DMB for some time; that sense of improv and allowing a song to breathe rather than it being so structured. As far as the song choices is Stand Up my favorite album? Not by a long shot, but I appreciate them changing it up from hearing the same songs I've heard the last 3 tours. 3 shows in and we have the likes of Hello Again, What You Are, #27, Steady As We Go and Stand Up. All songs that are not played very often if at all.

Lastly this is ONLY 3 shows into the tour, it gives me hope they will break out some other tunes as the tour goes on. So chill out

I have no problem with the stand up songs being played as long as they’re not played a ton. It’s important to have verity and I feel the last few tours haven’t had it.

This being said we are all fans of the band and when you see setlist after setlist it does get old. I’m only doing 6 shows this year I did 10 in 16 and found myself being too critical and not enjoying it as much, we’ll see if 4 less make a difference. I also like having 2 shows in June, one in July and 3 in September I think I’m way overly critical when I have many shows in one month.

If this was 2016, I'd agree with you, but at this point, I'm just happy that they are busting out old songs. As long as there is a variation factor and/or surprise factor at the show, I'm a happy camper. IMO, they also sound really really good. If they stop liberating/tour debuting songs, I'd obviously have a change in mind set, but for now, I'm more than content. Watching the shows on periscope, it's clear that they are in a good place right now (all Boyd allegations aside), and I think that is playing into the tour debuts and their sound.

To my knowledge, Hello Again was not sound checked, and was played last night, which means they are using a rehearsal room again...always a good sign. It's also clear, at least in my opinion, that Boyd was holding them back.

Now only if they bring back JTR. Every time I see that damn 12 string I get my hopes up, only to be let down.

kinda doubt it was impromptu being it happened the first show of the tour and there was another interpolation that night as well

What on earth is wrong with Squirm? Even if you don't "love it," it is nowhere near the worst of their catalog, nor would it drastically affect the quality of a show. And in my personal opinion, it's a pretty awesome song.
