Yeah it’s a shit show. Be prepared to wait and have packed trains when you do get on.

Pretty much everything apease mentioned is spot on. Along with bear lake in Rocky Mountain National Park, the town of Estes adjacent is a neat little town. Bear lake will be packed in summer so be prepared. Anywhere in the park is nice.

Mt Evans is pretty cool if you want to be on top of a 14er, and you can drive it.

If you really want to visit summit county off I-70, to me breckenridge is the spot to go to.

Have fun. Lots of places to explore.

fwiw... I recieved an email from axs alerting me the 2018 delivery delay for red rocks tickets has been lifted and tickets would ship soon...

not sure if similar emails will be released for other venues under axs

do you have any other suggestions for things to do/places to go in boulder besides pearl st?

Hah I've actually only lived here since August (from MA originally) so I'm glad my suggestions were useful to some, just trying to help! With my schedule I have had a lot of time to explore around, so most of my suggestions are for day(s) trips thoughout CO rather than "in" Boulder or Denver. Most of my time spent downtown (Boulder or Denver) is spent inside a music venue/dive bar.

The Royal Arch hike is a fun hike near (in?) Boulder and you can see the majority of Boulder from the top. Warning, it's pretty much one giant stairmaster all the way to the top:

PM me if you want a rundown of some of the cooler trips I've taken around the state since I've been here to share with your friend. Black Canyon in Gunnison is one of my favorites but is 4-5 hours away (worth it if you can get an AirBNB or whatever). I also have a great camping rec for BV and some cool stuff in Aspen/Crested Butte area - just don't want to hijack this thread. I'm sure people who have lived here longer than me (not hard to beat) will have other recs but I always like sharing my two cents!

Also - assuming you/she knows Dead&Co are at Folsom July 13-14. Even if you don't have tickets the whole city will be stealie central that weekend.

Got ours yesterday in Kansas City. Thanks Warehouse, for nothing. Well I take that back. According to my wife it took 20 years but they've finally sent something useful and practical in the package - the popsocket. Personally I'd rather have had decent seats for at least one night of those shows but to each his (or hers in this case) own.

Fiddler's as a venue is not very good. The sound is average at best if you're in the lawn. If much rather see them play at Dick's. But I got lucky on thepublic sale and got in the lower section (103? Can't remember without looking). It's too bad Dave is too big for another show at Red Rocks. That's one show I'd pay through the roof for.

Traffic and parking are a pain in the butt down there. Uber it off you can. It's worth a more expensive cabbie to stay downtown Denver than to stay in the area around Fiddler's... Not a bad area but not nearly as much fun as Denver.

look around Larimer Square in downtown. theres some upscale restaurants around there, like Ocean Prime. on friday and saturday nights, its pretty common to see like Porches and Mercedes, etc driving around there, and everyone is dressed up.

I can definitely second Ocean Prime as a great restaurant. We just celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary there and they have the best filet I've ever had.

EDIT: Also, make a reservation and mention that it's your anniversary. We got free champagne and dessert because of it. Congrats!
