i agree. The first half was amazing. I didn't get to see LITHOG last year...so that was pretty cool. I think what hurt the most was the encore. I figured with Ants closing the set maybe we'll get a Dave Solo, Nancies-Warehouse...or even SDL/So Right...Oh well.

I can't go tonight...so unless I decide to drive out to Hershey nxt week...last night was the last time I'll see them until 2012.

I love Eh Hee, was happy to see it. And I also like Cornbread. Can't Stop was the only song I could have done without in that run.

I'm sorry, but you are disappointed because you have unrealistic expectations....when, in recent history, have they played Nancies>>Warehouse in the encore?? It's not going to happen, especially at at N1. You're setting yourself up for disappointment.

reading this thread is hilarious and awful at the same time. you guys can't be pleased. I was at the show last night and it was awesome. Who cares if he played can't stop - its much better than it used to be. If you don't like the music stop obsessing about it and having your night ruined by it. Its still good and a lot of people like it. You guys must be the ones who are still mad after your sports team wins, saying that they could have done a lot better. You guys must be so much fun to hang out with.

Last night was great and tonight is going to be just as good if not better. If you are so upset by dave just send me, or anyone else who would actually enjoy it without being depressed if he plays you and me, your tickets.

I agree that unrealistic expectations end up in big let downs, but I think many of us had pretty realistic expectations last night based on what the band has done at other N1's so far this year and they still fell far, far short. I actually think last night was easily the worst N1 the band has played this summer.

Also, while I generally think rarity index is a poor way to determine whether a setlist was good or bad, the fact that last night was ranked 13th in this regard on the Almanac shows what a lazy/predictable set this was in the context of this summer tour.

The one plus is that they got pretty much everything I didn't want to hear out of the way last night. I was actually happy when they played Corn Bread, because by that point there was nothing that was going to save the show. With songs left on the table like...

...and hopefully a bust out or two, tonight should be pretty fucking great. But, again, trying not to get my hopes up.

Everyone is saying the Pit was crowded, but I didn't find it that bad... no different the the front of the lawn usually is. unfortunately 200's are the best I could get for tonight... anyone in 200 or 204 last night who can tell me how the view is? Looking back from the Pit it didn't seem as bad as the LN view thing showed

I'm flying solo tonight as all my friends decided to go last night. After last night I realized I have to go back again tonight..no way I'm missing a show this close to me. Anyways, is there an ants tailgate or anything going on as I don't want to be that guy sitting around the lots drinking by myself.

No because you've lost whatever made you a fan in the first place. I'll bet when you first started out you didn't care what they played and just wanted to go to the concert to see the band.....seems to me like you've lost that passion.

I agree that it's great to see great shows, but it's not worth it to complain all day the following day about how bad a show was....at least you were at the show! There are tons of fans who would kill to be there.

It's funny, I praised both SPAC shows because I thought they were both really, really good and I had an excellent time. Meanwhile, I thought last night wasn't very good and that the setlist was as boring and predictable as they come this summer (because it was) and I get flamed for it. So silly, in my opinion -- we're all allowed to like and dislike certain things.

Ya I was there. Unfortunately there really was no way to just hang in the back. The pit was way too packed. Once I grabbed a beer I just stayed stage left. There was no use trying to get back to the middle.

I agree with this thought, but let's not apply it to this show. You have to understand what people didn't like about it, and if you felt otherwise, then fine. The Jersey Run of Eh Hee/Can't Stop/Cornbread tacked on to a set with no tour debuts or different songs. This show looked similar to many they've played in the last week or so, plus the Bombtower encore that has become a mainstay for the band. Whether or not you agree with what people are saying, you have to be able to understand what they're saying.

I know you weren't, but your post just seemed to make the most sense to respond to, because I've seen Ricky praise sets plenty of times as well. If you had a great time last night, awesome, more power to you. But, to me, last night was as "mailed in" as it gets, both performance and setlist wise.
