I always book Dallas last, because there's so many hotels there and I don't mind driving if I book one across town.

Woodlands is usually the one I worry about booking early. My usual Days Inn sold out in 2016, so I try to do it quicker now.

At least at this point it seems like the Woodlands area hotels are a lot cheaper this time around - no Ironman to deal with... and that makes me very happy.

Need to figure out what to do about Austin. Part of me just wants to drive back after the show

Hey, at least that's progress from last time.

Really though, with as many of us that live in Austin, we can find some room for you; couch or air mattress at the least.

I stayed at that Courtyard in April for Petty. Was fine. Only drawback was that parking was hard to find after the show and we ended up parking in the lot for the hotel next door.

The hotel actually has a nice courtyard with an outdoor pool.
