of the nearly 2500 games played each year, a small amount go beyond the 10th inning. even less beyond the 11th, and so on and so on.

i can respect that MLB is trying to speed things up, but they created a rule that impacts a small % of games. woopy-dee-fucking-doo.

Agree to disagree, I guess. I’ve never been to a baseball game or watched a game where people are pining for extra innings. Ghost runner added an element of excitement to extras immediately while ensuring they ended quicker.

I guess I just don't understand why a sport that's been around for a while has to change some of its fundamentals. It's been this way forever, why do we need to change things? Manfred Man is fun, sure, but is it necessary? The occasional long game is part of the deal. Life goes on. If you don't like it, turn the game off after the 9th or go play a simulation on your console of choice or whatever. If we're playing baseball, sometimes the games keep going for a bit longer than normal.

Why is baseball unique, immune and afraid from/rule changes? Literally every sport in history has adapted and made changes to gameplay.
