Alright so I downloaded 3 of the gorge shows... my friday one was already in flac format.. so I used the flac thing to turn it into mp3 or whatever for Itunes... but my saturday and sunday shows are in SHN format... and I just tried that download that u put up there but its just a folder that u extract and then theres some links in there that just send u to different places... anyone know how I can get something to convert SHN to MP3

Did you download the SHN plugin? And the folder you downloaded can go anywhere on your computer. I just put it in my foobar folder. Yes, there are links to faqs and various things, but there is also a file called lame.exe. That's the mp3 encoder. If/when the programs asks where it is, point it to that file.

That's it. Just right-click > convert then.

Alright so I got foobar2000... downloaded Lame thing from the site... extracted in the foobar folder... put all of the songs into the foobar thing... did the convert thing and it says Could not load info( unsupported file format)

Thats the SHN things.

It seems you didn't download the shn plugin like I said...

Alright this whole SHN thing is pissing me off so bad that it makes me want to throw my monitor out the window. I downloaded pretty much everything on that *#**ing site and put it all in the components folder and it still says that stupid error..... GODDDDDD

Did you restart the program after you put them in the components folder? Have to do that...

no dude... I downloaded the whole lame thing, and the plug in... and when it says select the program or whatever I choose the foobar thing and it still says that error... i'm so pissed right now

OK, noob here and I've followed the FAQ instructions. Have everything downloaded and it plays OK.

Haven't tried converting or burning yet, but as far as tagging I have a question. I tried to do the live show tagging and it has the text file and everything looks good there. But when I try to tag it says there is a sharing violation. I stopped the player so it's not trying to play the track so I'm a bit confused......HELP PLEASE!!!!

This is the error I get.

Could not write info (Sharing violation) to:
"C:\Documents and Settings\XXXXXX\Desktop\dmb2006-09-02.mk4.722.flac16\dmb2006-09-02d3t07.flac"

I can burn these with whatever burner I want right? Just convert to wav and away I go? Is wav the best format to burn to?

That's weird. Yeah, it seems like the file is still in use. Wait, you're not still seeding the files, are you? That wouldn't work...

And to burn with foobar (if you have Nero installed...), you don't need to do any conversion. It'll do everything for you after you hit burn. But yeah, wavs are what it'll automatically convert to.

So you did download lame and have it on your computer then? You may need to actually click the file "lame.exe" before you can hit "OK" and not just point to the folder.

Yes...find the directory lame is in, open that directory, "lame.exe" will appear, select that file, then you should be able to hit "OK"...

If I convert flac or shn to mp3 or wave; does it replace the original lossless file?

Or will I have 2 copies of each song when all is said and done? One flac/shn & one wave/mp3

hey my foobar is working great for flac's but its not converting the .SHN. when i add them to my foobar theres just a ? where the track length should be. and when i click to play it says that it cant find playback. any help would be great.

Regarding the foosion and lame programs, what do I use to open them up. The Foobar is working fine for playing lossless files, but the other two programs keeps prompting me to choose a program to open them with, and I have no idea what to do with that.
Basically, I can listen, I can't convert.

can this program be used to organize an iPod? (I hate iTunes)

I've heard about the live show tagging which sounds badass, but does it collect coverart for your albums like iTunes does?

This thread is awesome. But I am having the same problem as quoted above. I unRARed the extentions into the components folder. But I cannot find a file called "ame" anywhere. Where is it? Am I lame??

I cannot get the actual conversion to MP3 to work due to this. Ok button is greyed out too.

Please send help.

if all you want is an audio disc to play in any cd player burrrn is awesome. it automaticlly converts flac and shn once you start burn process and automaticlly burns at once. its free. i use it all the time for audio discs.

nch switch can convert any format to any format. ive used it. its user friendly. but you gotta buy it or get a trial of it
