I would much rather hear an album of completely new songs than half of them be songs I've heard before.. The excitement of a new album is getting to hear songs you've never heard before.

This album does feel like it will be a very special convergence of many ideas.

It is also fifty years since the Beatles' double album and I do sort of feel like this was not lost on some of the band members; an album that is easily overlooked as predicting some of the musical ideas in expressive folk songs that have been brought to life filled with energy so well by this band!!
There are times where I wonder this might actually be a double album but probably not!

VITR is probably the only song I can stand Dave on the keys for. It's pretty slow but theres something beautiful about it. The song still feels like its missing something, but I can't put my finger on what it is.

most of daves piano songs are as basic as it gets. its chords and that's it.

because of this, they can sound empty. but I like the tone the song has. that's some character. the "dopey sound" as billy joel said when describing the same thing for just the way you are.

I love the song but I think it’s missing a good bridge vs. outro to make it less repetitive. I think by the 3rd verse I start to get bored. With a good bridge the song goes from great to next level.
