I missed getting one as a standard practice by about 3-weeks.

I just renewed my license at the beginning of October... NYS made all license issues and renewals Real IDs automatically on 10/30. Fuck

So NY is making everyone show up with all of that crap to renew their licenses? Are they going to subsidize the purchase of all of these certified things as well?

Upgrading before your license is due for renewal requires all that bullshit, but if you just wait until you have to renew it doesn’t look like any of that is required, it’s simply the standard renewal process here in NYS now.

I think you still need to jump through all those hoops because your state isn’t issuing them as a standard practice yet.
