It was written by Dave.

Beck's father composed/arranged the strings. Beck's father also did strings for Bismarck and Bob Law.

I'd say Here on Out has a great chance of being on there.

I will get the deluxe, most likely because it will come with a companion cd, or something along those lines, similar to AFTW. we will have to wait and see whats announced.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if every song on the new album is brand new and has never been heard before, and all those other studio sessions will just pile up with all the other unreleased studio sessions the band has.

Dave writes like crazy.

I seem to recall we were all surprised in both 2009 and 2012 when the new albums contained nothing we'd heard before, everyone was positive "x" and/or "y" would be on it.

I get what your saying, but with the promotion that samurai cop has gotten and the fact that dave not only opened the mexico shows with Do You Remember, but also gave an explanation for the song, makes me think that its pretty prominent in the bands minds right now

As great as it would be, I can't see any of the non-released 2004 or 2006 songs being on the album. One can wish though.

I just hope they go in a different direction than AFTW to be honest. Besides Broken Things, BBN and Snow Outside, that album just doesn't do it for me these days.

will be curious to see marketing rollout for this album. there was a lot for BW (as far as promo videos, snippets, etc), whereas there was basically nothing with AFTW.

I would be surprised if Samurai Cop doesn't make it, but yeah it could end up being mostly brand new material. I think I'd actually prefer that.

Or maybe they'll just go crazy and give us a double album. A disc of old stuff and a disc of new stuff.

Whatever they do, I hope they jam something out on it like they did with Snow Outside -> Drunken Soldier. I don't want an album of hip three minute diddies.

I also think that the Gorge release purposely left off Samurai Cop, Bob Law, ect shows they want to release those on the album.

I still hold out hope for one last Stone or 41. I wasn't crazy about the new songs debuted last summer at all, but that's just my opinion.

All we can do is wait and see! I'm debating SPAC...

I just hope DMB has it in them to give us a really great record. An album both the band AND the fans can get behind and be excited about. The band has changed their sound dramatically over the course of the last 10 years and unfortunately that's alienated some of the fan base. This is most apparent in the live setting. It doesn't help matters when you can't hear one of the most integral pieces of their sound (Boyd). I would absolutely love to see DMB come back strong and round out their career on top.

Release a solid album, get Boyd back in the mix, play a great summer tour that celebrates the release (mix up the sets with old and new), and maybe step back into the spotlight a bit. Older bands HAVE made come backs before. From there, play a couple more tours, record and release an epic final album, do one final tour in 2021 and call it quits. End 30 years on top.

I don't know much about this stuff, but maybe that cost is incorporated into the ticket sales and that's the cause of the increase? That might be a stretch, but if someone is buying a ticket that also includes an album, maybe that does in some way go towards their sales.

I like "Ghosts in the Attic" too for the album title. "Oh Joy Begin" would also be good, and that should definitely be the title of Sam Cop.

Sales is a bit of a misnomer, its units moved so yes it counts. Including a copy with each ticket is a good way to have the album debut at #1 with all those pre-sales.

If the new album debuts at #1, they'll join Eminem atop the "most consecutive studio albums to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200" category with 7 consecutive studio albums each which have debuted at #1.
