You sure can! The entrances are all at the top, and you walk down the lawn to get to your spot. Beautiful views.

There was some talk of the 2/20/20 show, so I gave a couple tunes a listen. Someone in the band has GOT to fill in Boyd's part at the end of Grey Street. I honestly cannot believe the band doesn't hear how empty it sounds. That has always been one of my favorite parts of the song. I would even take Buddy playing it on organ. Or here's an idea...hey Rashawn, shut up and let Jeff do his thing and you take Boyd's part. There has never been a need for two horns soloing at the end of that song.

Current Grey Street is wrecked long before it gets to the ending but filling in that part differently, or at all, would be nice

As someone who hasn’t listened to them in a long time and just listened to my first show, they sound different. The keys and Tim combine to give the band more filler, which I wouldn’t say I enjoy - but hey. Dave’s guitar is no longer a signature feature. Obviously neither is the violin. Sadly, there isn’t really anything unique about them currently. They’ve regressed from a really unique, worldly, fusion driven band, to like a soft adult contemporary band. Shows are probs still fun - but that’s because there is so much raw talent on stage - not necessarily because of how they use it.

    Ants Marching.
    Tripping Billies.

There are songs that simply need nothing more or less than a violin, otherwise they will never sound right.

I think it would be cool for the band to bring back the slower Don't Drink the Water. That would be a small change that would enliven a pretty stagnant live track (imo). Not that I don't love the tune, but I'd just prefer to hear that version again after hearing it so many times.

Yup. Yup. Yup. and Yup. Now combine that with the songwriting.
It's OK. You guessed correctly. Shows are still fun. Did you listen to the Stairway AATW?

Anyone planning to check out this Juneteenth livestream tonight? Initially I thought it was advertised as a Dave and Carter livestream but saw that it’s part of a larger livestream “festival”. Was hoping for another Warehouse type thing but could still be cool to catch them play something.

Not sure why but I've been wondering if the guys or Dave has covered Show Me How To Live or Wide Awake by Audioslave... just recently felt they are very apt and could put a twist on them.

In case anyone wondered it ended up being Grey Street from the Warehouse sessions. Having recently had some chatter about said song, I have to say this is the best version they’ve played since before they turned the horn section into a battle. Great feel to it and Carter dominates the ending.

Incredible version. They were such a confident sounding band back then. So tight and could really take the songs anywhere they wanted with ease.

People in this thread: The band has to fill in boyds parts!

Roarshawn and Tim C/ DC: Say no more fam **absurdly loud horn and electric guitar playing over dave**

While the fiddle is missed less is more with this band. Grey Street has been jacked up for many reasons outside of the violin missing. The sped up tempo and the wall of sound over dave's guitar are bigger issues for Grey Street than filling Boyd's pars. I don't mind open space in the band even when it sounds odd like the current lie in our graves or ants without boyd. DMB only has 2 speeds
1st gear is an empty part of a song boyd use to fill and
2nd gear is playing extremly loud AF to fill in boyd parts

Random dmb thoughts that don't need their own thread

Putting together my opinions + what I’ve read in some other threads, I did play with infographic and I came out with this “evolution of LIOG”.
Link should work if opened with Safari or Chrome.
    Any comments/corrections are appreciated

I know that Jeff is not Roi and cannot possibly do anything similar to Roi’s solo in RR95 LIOG
    but…
…what if they’d decide to play LIOG like in the old times, before 96, with the sax solo to “fill in” the violin parts? Maybe in a different way..

I shall take that as more interest in my 0 post status than the query.

First DMB show I attended was Wembley in 2007 where Tom Morello was a guest on Satellite and 41 after being the support for his The Night Watchmen tour. The torrents don’t do that justice.

I’ve been to every U.K. show since 2007 but am more an avid reader on here than poster… clearly.

Can't wait for the tour. I used to check sets at night/watch periscope or check the shows at work the next morning. I've missed doing the setlist game, man it's going to be fun.

Is this the perfect D&T setlist?

Why does no one ever talk about this show?
