DMB Songs you've learned and are still trying to learn..

I've been playing roughly 20 years and other than some basic beatles tunes (chords only, not really a lead guitarist), I pretty much started learning DMB songs as my "lessons in guitar".

If Im not mistaken, the first tune I tried learning was Crash into Me...so sue me Just started plucking out the bass line on guitar while playing along to the CD.

Over time, I picked up:
  • All of UTTAD with the exception of the faster parts of #34
  • All of Crash with the exception of Let You Down
  • All of BTCS (not sure I remember all of Dreaming Tree )
  • Everyday (the song, not the album)
  • About half of Busted Stuff
  • A few from Stand Up (please be gentle)
  • A few from BWATGGK
  • a couple from AFTW (mainly Broken Things, Belly Belly Nice, If Only and Drunken Soldier

Also, most of Luther College except for Stream (the sheet music is just ridiculous)

what songs do y'all enjoy playing the most and which tunes are y'all still attempting to learn?

DMB songs I've learned: Just about all of the studio songs
Songs I'm still trying to learn: can't think of any

There are some BW songs that are played on the electric that I haven't bothered with but I know Dave's parts

Songs I play the most: Recently, Rhyme and Reason, Crazy Easy, JTR, Crash, Crush when I tune down, Tripping Billies, Lie in our Graves, You Never Know on the raised B, Oh, Space Between, Warehouse, Broken Things, DDTW, Say Goodbye, and a ton more that I just can't name - I switch between songs randomly when I feel like it so I play a lot

Tried to edit this but my time ran out:

Songs I play the most: Recently, Jimi, Joyride, Grace is Gone, Rhyme and Reason, Crazy Easy, JTR, Crash, Crush when I tune down, Tripping Billies, Lie in our Graves, You Never Know on the raised B, Oh, Space Between, Warehouse, Broken Things, DDTW, Say Goodbye, and a ton more that I just can't name - I switch between songs randomly when I feel like it so I play a lot

I'll basically play anything Dave puts on a setlist these days because I play along with full shows when I'm bored

I've played through with the entire Live at Piedmont Park video along with several taped shows that I've been to

SAME with satellite! Hard to play that staccato little riff and not have my left hand craaaaamp up. That and Crash into Me (at least the way it's tabbed in the Luther College book)

I'm into more of the simpler stuff that's fun to play along with:

    BOWA
    LIOG
    Spoon
    PNP>Rapunzel
    Crazy-Easy
    #41
    Warehouse
    Good Good Time
    JTR
    Lover Lay Down
    Big Eyed Fish
    Bartender

I'm still trying to get Raven, Cry Freedom, Cigarette Lit, Dodo gives me some trouble for some reason. I won't even attempt Satellite.

I’ve recently gotten the riff for Satellite down, but have more trouble with the chorus oddly.

I also almost have the Stone down fully, just certain switches are tough for me.

I really want to get Warehouse down but can’t seem to get the muting down correctly.

I find that getting nearly any DMB song down completely is very difficult.

One of my favorite riffs to play is So Much to Say. That one is quite rewarding once you get it down.

the main difference is fretting the b at the fifth fret (doubling the open high e).

The hard part is fretting all the notes clearly and keeping the open strings from being accidentally muted.

    that and hand craaaamps

I’m putting together a YouTube channel to teach every DMB song they’ve written. I have about 80 songs done so far. If anyone wants to check it out, maybe I can help you with songs you’re struggling with. If I haven’t posted them yet then let me know and I’ll get them up! My channel is obviously linked in my signature line.

    where is this posted?

You can find a few tutorials of "here on out" on youtube - i was playing around with it last night for a little but i'm going to wait for an official tab so i can get a good idea of the bass line. the guitar in the song is too muted to get a really good listen - might play it with headphones but thats just too much work - rather wait for the tabs

learned a good amount of When I'm Weary on the piano. Its gorgeous
