Two Songs in the Top 10 Triple A Charts for DMB

Dave Matthews Band is enjoying some uncommon radio success. The latest single, Why I Am is holding at #7. Not too shabby for a song that has only been hyped via an appearance on Letterman and an internet live video based on the Brixton Academy video which isn't an official release yet (more on that later...) . Funny The Way it Is is holding at #10, after peeking at #1 earlier this year on the Triple A charts. Why I Am jumped up in the past few weeks, climbing from #17 to #12 and now, #7. Why I am is generally considered the strongest single since Grey Street in terms of overall song, and Grey Street only reached #18 on the Hot Adult charts, so Why I Am has that going for it; still, it's not as high up as some expected.
The next single is also all set, and it's not exactly a shocker. You and Me will be released to radio stations on August 24. Sometimes singles are delayed, as Why I Am was, so if it doesn't hit exactly in a week, it'll be some Monday shortly thereafter.

Why I Am to be Second Single

The second single is all set to go from Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King. Radio insiders are letting it be known that Why I Am, the increasingly popular and catchy tune, will be the second single from Dave Matthews Band's latest release. It is slated to hit radio stations in an 'official release' capacity on July 13.
It has received steady play on tour this year - including the stellar Cincinnati show June 16. It is certainly one of the most personal - if not the most personal - songs released to radio by the band. The song will also expose a lot of listeners to search for the back story to who the "GrooGrux King" really is (We'll save you the trouble: It's Roi). An announcement from the official site should arrive "soon".

Two additional songs have also been added to the tracklist; previously unheard during the listening parties and subsequent demo albums: Seven and My Baby Blue, bringing the total number of tracks to 13, including the introductory track (Grux). Like one of the first tracks we heard of, "Shake Me Like a Monkey," "You and Me" has had its title modified slightly as well from the last known tracklist.
Radio Stations: Funny The Way It Is will be First Single

Numerous radio stations around the country are reporting that Funny The Way It Is will be the first single off Dave Matthews Band's Big Whiskey And The GrooGrux King.
That is one of the songs we mentioned previously as a song from the new album. Those who have heard the song in one of the listening parties around the country seem to all agree that is a catchy tune with a good hook. Most went as far as to call it the strongest of the songs they heard (not all songs were played during the listening parties).
The single will hit as early as April 14, according to radio stations.
