not a great show at all. the make shift baracade was quickly stormed right when dave and the guys came out. i started the night with second row tickets only to be forced to comfortably watch the show from about twenty rows back. dave was none to impressed and actually did not start until about one hundred FOLDING chairs (of all things) were evacuated. if you will notice dave has not returned to austin in a full band capacity. i guess i could be crying a bit, but that is not how i want to spend a night at dave!

Rated 5 stars for closing the show with Watchtower...First time I remember hearing and feeling it. He seemed super tired from Woodstock though and I do remember the chair fiasco. We were up close (on the sides) all of a sudden Dave comes out and about a million people rushed the baracades and trashed the seats. I still remember Dave saying "Hey, watchout for all those pretty ladies down there!" Great show and the first one I really remember...Good Times! Dave vowed he would never return to Austin after that incident and still, almost a decade later, he has not returned...

review written in 2008, I'm new!

This show was AWESOME! I only knew of a couple of dmb songs before this concert, I am sure you can all guess which ones i knew of. My friend had a couple of extra tickets and told me that i would like them if i gave them a shot! My dad wanted to go to after hearing their music and after the show i was a TOTAL fan! This is the show that opened me up to a whole genre of music!

This show was awesome. I had just bought my Jeep and I drove my sister and her boyfriend to Austin. We got there early scored a killer seat on the edge of the reserved seats. When the concert started Dave invited everyone in the lawn to come closer to the stage. Everyone rushed to grab a seat. We stood on the chairs the whole time and just jammed.

Man what a night

Fabulous show. My first DMB experience. The assigned seating situation was horrible. Fortunately, they're now turning the venue into a strip mall. I didn't appreciate the rarity of the show at the time. Wasn't as hard core back then. Dreaming Tree, LIOG, Jimi and #41 were gold.

Dave seemed a little worn out after Woodstock? But the thing I remember the most is having front row tix and getting slammed into the barricade all night by idiot drunks who stormed up front from their crappy seats. about a hundred chairs were broke from the same idiots standing on them. Also, at one point the crew from South Park decided to turn the water hoses on the front 5 or so "rows" which was nice. I am not suprised that Austin is now left off tour, the people there did nothing to deserve a return.

This was my 1st DMB show. My girlfriend at the time got tickets for us but for some reason (I forget why) there was 1 ticket up front in seating and the other was on the Lawn. Her knowing that I was the huge DMB fan she let me have the better ticket. We got to the gate where we were going to go our separate ways and about that time everyone on the Lawn decided they were going up front and stormed the stage. Needless to say i never made it to my seat but at least my girlfriend and I were able to watch it together and at fairly close distance. About the show. What stands out in my mind 9 years later is seeing and hearing Watchtower for the 1st time and and when they turned on the Flood lights when the song picked up (It made the hair on the back of my neck stand up) was a great climax to a fantastic show. Also hearing Angel from Montgomery and Long Black Veil for the 1st time was amazing.

This was the show that the barriers were knocked down by the crazy drunks and luckily I was able to proffer by running up, jumping on chairs in the 2nd row. Show was great I'm sure.

this was my first dave show ever. wasn't quite the fan as i am now, but those were the best seats i've ever had. the stage got rushed and i'll be damned if we didn't get kicked out of our seats. i'm glad i have live recording of it now, it helps me appreciate it much more.

I had front row tickets to the show and were overrun by the rest of the folks when the makeshift barracade collapsed. It was not a great night for DMB fans...especially whrn Dave alomst left the stage. One of the punks that overran the barracade had a pen-laser and shone it at Dave. The beam hit his cheek and he spun around to avoid being blinded. When he spun back around he was pissed and given a chance, so would gone after the kid Axel-Rose-syle.
