My first Dave Matthews Band show. I was there to see a local band from El Paso and was captivated by One Sweet World. Then The Best Of What's Around pulled me in to become a Dave Matthews band fan. My first taste of #41 was awesome. Too bad no one has this show. I have searched but have turned up nothing. If anyone has this show please let me know!

All I can say is that had it not been for this show, I wouldn't be as in love with the band as I am now!

17 years old. First Dave show. Was a rabid fan at that point. And getting to see those amazing guys up close and personal like that was one of those memories that will stay with me for the rest of my life. I was learning to play guitar at the time and spent many an hour figuring out UTTAD, by ear mind you!! And once I saw the unique voicing technique that Dave uses, it completely changed my style of guitar playing from 'traditional' chord voicing, to the 'root-third' and 'arpeggiated patterns' that Dave so frequently uses. Fantastic, fantastic show. Lenny Kravitz got rained-out. He literally played about 4.5 songs and promised to come back. He did about 5 years later and played for 4 hrs. It was absolutely incredible!! Blues Travler's set was pretty spectacular in retrospect. However, being an impatient teenager and the fact that Dave's set was just before theirs, I was about ready to go by the 90 min mark into John Popper and Co.'s performance. We stayed until the end, but how worn out all of us were at that point. About 3 years later I heard a story from my great, late friend, Dave Diaz, that he had the pleasure of being able to hang out with the late, great LeRoi Moore. I will refrain from repeating the conversation they had, as I was told this story in confidence. Sufficed to say, LeRoi was an amazing person and a very interesting dude. Good things. Mazel Mazel. And a whole lot of 'Yeeeaaahhh.'
