So today's dose takes to the first time the Dave Matthews Band played the state of Arkansas, the home of president Bill Clinton and the Natural State as indicated by the greeting on the highway sign. I had the pleasure of driving down from Bonner Springs Kansas where I had caught the previous nights show, I was on 7 day bender of DMB & Phish in the summer of 2003. I had the epiphany walking into my local dive bar only a month earlier to randomly go to Arkansas, just to see the country side and DMB...why not?
Whatever gods were trying to tell me were indicated by the blockbuster performance inside the Alltel Arena that Sunday evening. This was a blockbuster show, highly underrated and easily in my top 5 of DMB shows, nearly the best with-out a doubt!
Ants opens the show, you knew you were in for a bizarre ride, a 16 minute Seek-up put the show into 5th gear and the boys never looked back, a mid-set Nancies>Warehouse that nearly tore the roof off, a late Stone, encore Billies and an incredible encore of Johnny Cash's The Maker>Two Step. This show made my summer and I won't ever forget the drive through dixieland that landed me in Little Rock down by the riverside that fine evening.

We drove up from Memphis to see this show. My buddy and I were lucky enough to meet Dave and Carter before the show at the Peabody Hotel. I asked Dave if he had a good show for us. He replies, "Well, we'll have to see after the shows over." He was a man of his word as DMB impressed us once again. Very reminiscent of the earlier days. For all of you warehouse fans, with only one "everyday" song, it was all worth while. When an energetic version of ants starts off any concert, you know that it is gonna be good. R&R, Seek Up, Billies,Too Much, and So Much to Say were the major highlights. I think Dave started out Nancies with an old Talking Heads song (Once In a Lifetime). Nancies segued into Warehouse was definitely my favorite parts. Boyd was soloing with more energy than I've seen in a while. Two Step was great closer showcasing Butch's talent and going on forever. The warehouse and lower levels were enjoying themselves, while a few of us in the upper deck were jamming out. All in all i was very impressed. Thank You Dave, Thank You

DMB rocked the house for the first time ever in Arkansas. My highlights were Seek Up and Nancies->Warehouse. Hearing Ants, Billies, and Two Step all in one show was nice too

First Dave Matthews Band concert I was ever to... I'm planning on going to Georgia this year to see DMB, since I have friends I know in Georgia. I went to see this concert originally and I had only been a fan of their radio songs and 41. Man, after I went to this concert I was HOOKED. I didn't know any of the songs there but they were so awesome anyways. Now after I know alot more about DMB, I say their live songs are just incredible, they could make anyone a fan of their music. As of this show... after listening to it later, it was awesome! Especially Two Step and Seek Up.

Great show, a lot of energy! The Ants opener and Two Step closer were deffinetely the highlights. Dave even did a little solo during Two Step which I had never heard before. It was also my first time to hear Help Myself, Seek Up (one of my favorites), and Tripping Billies which were all great! Nancies>Warehouse was also extremely energized and beautifully done, as always1

This had to be one of the best shows of the year...Great set with tons of energy..Being his first apperance in Little Rock seemed very exciting to the band and was definitely a thrill to all of us..I can only hope he chooses to come through here again...This was definitely a show I wont forget!!

Unbelievable. That's how I'd describe this show.
The Two Step encore was LONG and featured solos by the piano player and bass player. There was a noticeable jazz feeling to it midway through. It was great.

Wow! What can I say. It was a night of firsts for me. First time for Dave to be in AR, as well as my first show. I couldnt have been more impressed. Ants Marching to open was great, as well as Help Myself and Seek Up thrown in there. The highlight was by far Tripping Billies and Two Step. Two Step seemed like it went on for an hour. Carter was beating the drums like crazy. All I can say is great show, and I hope Dave decides to come back to AR.

My first Dave show. It freakin' ROCKED!!! Pretty standard set, except for opening with Ants. LOVED IT!! Crowd was partying. Carter completely got off. Can't wait to see another one!

I was hoarse for two days after the concert from singing and screaming so much! I was not about to miss DMB's first concert in Arkansas!

The first of three shows in a week for me and it turned out to be the best one! I liked the setup for this show, with the screen behind the stage instead of allowing people to sit back there. Plus this was the first time I'd had floor seats, so I had a pretty good view. "Tripping Billies" to close the show was incredible, I thought!!! The only downside was we parked in the arena's parking area and it took us close to an hour to leave.
