Despite Leroi's absence, the band still put on a great show, rockin' the place like they always do. The venue was...interesting. I think amphitheatre's do much more justice to concerts than soccer fields.

We missed our flight today, so we came back, bought some tix from a scalper and made it a double-header! Two nights in a row in LA watching Dave and I'm leaving for Europe in two days. I'm having a good summer.

I was at this show and it was the best one yet. I was however sad to find out that Leroi Moore fell ill after the first song never to return. But the night was one Ill never forget. The greatest part for me was Dave, alnone on the stage played a song I had never heard. The song was called Grave Digger and Dave performed it acoustic.

Roi drank the water. You'd think he'd have heard not to by now. Sheesh.

Well, the show was off to an incredible pace... until Roi had to leave the stage during Stone and never returned cause he was throwin up off stage. Gotta give him props though for coming out and trying to give it a go, just didn't work out... along with the rest of the show. Dave dedicated DDTW to Roi and assured the crowd we were going to have fun anyways... and it was okay, but definately not the same. Could tell that the whole setlist was rearranged because of it and the show suffered. Butch and Boyd stepped up their parts for Roi, and we figured they would arrange the new setlist around Boyd songs, which they did (Jimi, Billies, Nancies). Would have probably been amazing but will have to settle for what we got... was hoping for at least a Typical in there. Highlite of the night was probably Nancies, Boyd went nuts here. First Gravedigger of the tour too. All in all, the show was mediocre... definately had a chance for greatness but couldn't fit the bill without Roi.

(for a while it thought it was just the humidifiers...) Tripping Billies was awesome, best version i ever heard. see you guys at chula vista!!

The first of 4 shows this summer. Decided to go to this one because, just for the fun of it, I checked to see what I could get from Ticketmaster when the show went on sale, and I got 10th row tickets - so why not! Brand new venue, soccer stadium, outdoors. Not sure what the sound or view were like from the rest of the stadium, but where I was everything was perfect. Leroi left the stage after The Stone, but the band didn't miss a beat. I think they actually stepped it up in his honor. The setlist doesn't really tell the story of this show. Dave and Butch both had some great improv during Jimi Thing and they all seemed to be having a great time. The crowd was pretty weak - lots of empty seats. But it's L.A. - what can you expect?

Early show start time and a mellow first night had me thinking that this would be a high energy show - and it STILL blew me away. First off, the Roots were AWESOME both nights. I felt bad that there wasn't a larger crowd on the floor, but was happy to see that most people digged them. Hot Music, indeed. SMTS-->Bridge-->WWYS was sweet, R&R was a fireball, and WTWE was smooth (Naomi Watts was right in front of me and I enjoyed watching her groove a little bit to it. Unfortunately she left ten minutes later). Was able to see Roi going down in the back 2/3rds into Stone. That sucked. It wasn't until I saw the other guys joke around a while later that I relaxed and focused on the show. Made me wonder if I was seeing something really horrible. Well, if the show wasn't going to be great before, it BLEW UP after that. DDTW was hands down the most intense I've ever seen, and Dave outro'd it. Seemed to be completely wrapped up into it, reminded me of Gorge Halloween. Butch earned my undying respect for saving the show. He MADE Jimi Thing work, and really went miles covering for Roi. Everyone else (notably Boyd) kicked it up to cover for his going out, but Butch really filled in holes. Songs that stood out: DDTW, Too Much, Jimi. The 3 song encore was also sweet. Maker was great and Billies just brought the house down. If I was getting into a rut with shows that felt the same, this got me out. A+++++

Leroy left half way through the show, if I remember correctly. Was still the best show I've been to. Sat in the 6th row, turned around before the encore and invited this girl to the Tuesday San Diego show, a couple of days later. She accepted, and, well, long story short, she's sitting with me right now. Awwww....

my 5th show and the first one i was on the floor for....i was all the way at the back of the last section, but i was on the floor dammit!! leroi collapsed during the show and was ok fortunately, the band was great and kept playing even without him. my 1st show that i went solo to....i like going without anyone i know, it leaves me free to meet new people and hang out in the parking lot as long as i want to as people are leaving

LeRoi Threw up on stage... Row 4 Center... I think that's probably why we got a 3 song encore. By far the most amazing setlist I have ever heard/seen. The outro jam to jimi thing was amazing, as well as the "some Devil" intro to What You Are. Tripping billies was over the top!

This was my second DMB show. It was an awesome way to celebrate my birthday, only 4 days previous. The Stone and What You Are were great, and Gravedigger was excellent. I was looking forward to Watchtower and Two Step, but I was one day late.

What an incredible show. It was dissappointing that Roi had to leave the stage after only 3 songs, but hope he's feelin' better. It was awesome to hear Gravedigger, didn't expect that one.

Very strange show without Leroi because of the flu, but the band did a tremendous job with having such a huge void in the band. Their were some really nice spots in the show like nancies and the encore with gravedigger(Dave solo). All in all the band showed why they are the best band in the world. Hursh

It was great to catch the band 3000 miles from home. Friends told me they didn't play the same song twice in the 2 nights they were in L.A. Somehow I got hooked up with a girl who "convinced" me to leave my friends and climb rows with her to make it closer to the stage. I didn't argue, and we got to about the 16th row. The show had great energy, even without Leroi for almost 3 quarters of the show, which was kind of cool to hear some songs improvised without the sax. Especially when Butch filled in great during Jimi Thing. Also, my first time hearing Dancing Nancies with the full band. Dave did a great intro to What You Are for the closer. And Tripping Billies encore was crazy. Dave started with the acoustic sound, then the band joined in to just rock the song out.

When they played Tripping Billies, I ran through the rows in the bottom section skipping and singing "Eat, Drink, and Be Marry For Tomorrow We Die!" and my friend Leah came and tackled me. We both laughed as we fell to the ground. It was one of the most special moments of my life.

This was a really cool show to see. Leroi got sick like two songs in and had to bail. The rest of the band had to step it up a notch and really shine. This let Boyd bounce the house, and the Butch blew us all away.

Great show. Seats weren't too good, but it didn't really matter. Too bad about Roi. The rest of the band really stepped it up both in the music and in energy. Dave came out on stage solo and I was hoping for #40 but Gravedigger was great. The crowd tried to clap along, but it didn't really work. Both Nancies and Billies were great with tons of energy. A very interesting show.

good times, even without leroi. i thought he was just taking breaks in the beginning, but finally figured it out when butch started doing a lot of solos. highlights include the stone (always fun singing the wise men outro with friends), jimi thing, nancies, and of course billies (always a wondeful way to close). anyone else disappointed with the attendance #'s? i thought saturday looked a little empty, but sunday was even worse. beautiful venue though, a lot of people sure missed out. only complaint: 4 LA area shows in 2 years and no #41?!?!?!?!? hopefully next year.

This show had a total different vibe to it, and probably was because of Leroi bowing out with sickness. The others picked it up though, and his absence was a blessing in disguise if you know what I mean. Carter rocked, but definitely missed Leroi. Outside circumstances prevented it from being as good as the first night (friend used my tix to get down to the seats and never found me...bastard), lost my ID so couldn't get beer, etc etc., but they made up for it towards the end with Nancies, and Gravedigger solo was awesome.
