wow I just wrote a long ass review and it logged me out for no reason so it didn't submit, so here I go again... Wowwie wow wow... This show was a reminder of why Alpine+DMB=best shows in the midwest year in and year out. This was a top 3 show in my dmb eyes. Where to start again. For so many reasons this show was simply great! Granny(one of my favorites), 41 a rare treat, SMTS right into, I'm rick James Bitch, I mean how sick of a tribute was that! too much gives us a lil angry dave which is always good, for once bartender was more of a lowlight than a highlight for me, but a nice tribute to the troops, IBYU how rare and sweet is that! The new songs were all good, but sugar will still needs a bit tightening up I think, this is where the show goes to another level though! Ants is what DMB is about to me, great participation, great "get it up boyd solo", just chills from the atmosphere, then possibly the best everyday I've ever seen, I thought they were going to play it for an hour, I think some people are still chanting "hani hani, come and dance with." The crowd was so into it by this point it was just an amaizing way to get the crowd fired up for the encore! Then typical was sweet as always to lead into the WH closer, what a way to go into the night with a great 4 song cresendo to the end. The only thing missing was dave scat/rap, but we got some of that luv in night 2. I got out of the lot in 20 mins even though we were tailgating from 3:30 on. Great performance, great venue, Simply amaizing. To steal a bit from another review, usually Saturday night at alpine is newer, slower and a bit more "pre programmed" than this year, they were tight from guster, through carters stick tossing... Great show tonight!

Great show! Super Freak was incredible! Band had a ton of energy. Set list could be a little stronger but with the two night setup I'm not disappointed. Dave hasn't lost it a bit. Now if the lawn section would only calm down a bit.

This was my first show, and I wasn't even an actual fan yet when my then boyfriend brought me with his crew. I was hooked after that night. Will always remember my first show as great, even though I didn't know most of the songs. :)

This was by far my favorite show. An awesome mix of classics plus a couple new ones to mix it up. Awesome crowd, the band really got them going. I also don't think that I've ever been to a dmb concert where they've jammed this much. Sounded absolutely awesome!

My friend and I drove down from Minneapolis after flying in from Hawaii to see this show, and we were very impressed. We had seats in section 102, 8th row .. right in front and 30 feet from the stage. Guster was pretty good, and this was my favorite dave show yet

This was one of the best shows I've ever heard. Superfreak tribute to Rick James and a never-before-heard (to me anyways) jam of typical situation for an encore, right into warehouse with the woo-ing fans carrying on that central park tradition and everything. and not to mention--man were we drunk.

Wow- what an incredible show. Hello Again opener was unexpected, but awesome in it's bluegrass, two step-ish nature. The rest of the new tunes including Sugar Will (one of my newer favorites), seem to reminisce the band's jam band grass roots while exhibiting the members individual improvements over the years. I have been watching the set lists go by over the summer hoping to see #41 show up- and was so happy to hear it, what an awesome version too. It appears to me as if Dave is celebrating the return of a stronger falsetto, with songs like I'll Back You Up (and what would be an incredible vocal solo on Jimi Thing on 8/8), Bartender Jam, etc. I absolutely loved the crowd participation on Everyday and thoroughly enjoyed not just the teaser, but an actual segue into #36. Butch really seemed to come out of the woodwork this tour, glad to hear his tasteful electric piano duet with LeRoi on Sugar Will. Who could forget that Typical Situation encore? Whew! All in all an amazing show- definitely one of, if not the best I've seen. Keep it up DMB, thanks for an awesome weekend!

I've seen Dave live 3 times now (not that much compared to most) but this was the best show I have ever seen in my life. The tribute to the SUPERFREAK was amazing and it really helped get the crowd pumped. I missed the first 2 songs waiting in line for the pissers (it took like 35 minutes) but I saw the rest of the show and it was amazing. We also met some tech's recording the show and they said that they may release this as a 2 album live CD/DVD containing both Sat. and Sun. show. I would pay any ammount of money to own this show on CD/DVD so I hope this happens. All you ants should mail the band if you want this to happen and lets see if we can get it done! I give this show an A++++!

It took me 2.5 hours to get to the show from Madison because of the backed up traffic on the interstate. My friends who I was meeting there thought I was dead because I was so late. I met pj4real29 in line at a pisser and we went to party a bit before the show. Thank goodness we missed Jem but sadly enough by the time we got to our reserved seats Guster was still playing for some reason. It was pretty disgustering. Anyway, we snuck pj4real29's drunk girlfriend down and the show began. It was the best show I'd seen since the first one I'd been to in 4-02. Show highlights included the bass solo on 'I'll Back You Up,' and the electric piano in 'Sugar Will.' Other notes on 'Sugar Will' is that the lyrics are poor. How many songs are DMB fans going to desacrate by saying 'woooo!' between breaks? I'm speaking of 'JOY RIDE' of course. 'Warehouse' is already ruined, don't do it to 'JOY RIDE.' And it would not have been a DMB concert without such travesties as 'When the World Ends' and 'Grey Street.' Havin' a good time...

well this might take it all. everytime i go to a concert i have to come home and look at the setlist and just looking at this one gives me goosebumps. They really do love alpine valley and it is obvious in the music they played at this concert. i went in wanting to hear a good concert and have fun and walked out with my mind completely blown. 41, ants, everyday, smts>superfreak>too much, and i dunno about everyone else but the new songs sound so much better than two months ago. This is a must d/led for any of you didnt go.

First night of a 2-night DMB extravaganza. Good show, not a huge fan of a lot of the new stuff, and "I'll Back You Up" went almost totally unappreciated (by me anyways). However, "Hello Again" is a fricking awesome song, love Carter's jam in the middle, as is Joyride. There was a whole ton of boozing done before and after this show as we camped out at an area campground afterwards. Drunken Taco Bell (in Lake Geneva, WI) is always an added post-show plus.

Wow!!! Totally blown away by tonight. I honestly have to say that this is definately up there with the DM&F concert that I attend at Allstate. The setlist was awsome and the guys were really on fire tonight. What more can I say about this band they kick ass! "Superfreak" totatlly cool... and the band did it just perfectly never seen such a great crowd of people before... Joyride, Hello Again and Bartender were excellent! Gave me goosebumps! WOW! What an amazing show! There was an electricity in the air that was really unsurpassed. I absolutely love Hello Again and I thought it was a great way to kick off the concert. Other highlights were IBYU, #41 and #36/Everyday. Superfreak was a very pleasant surprise. I've read some reviews saying Dave's voice was shot during some previous shows, but not tonite! His voice sounded as good as I've ever heard it. Rumor has it DMB might release these Alpine shows as a CD/DVD. Top to bottom, the best DMB show I've seen yet!

First I have to get this off my chest... Warehouse preferred lawn? That was a joke! You couldn't see anything! Where the soundboards and ops where they had a tent that covered it and you could only see either Dave's feet or Carter's head! That sucked! But that was my only complaint! Now on with the review!

Hello Again is a great opener and then to go into Granny, 41, Stone? Are you kidding? Great start to this show! But the highlight of course was the Super Freak segue between SMTS and Too Much! They rocked that! What an awesome surprise! IBYU was a great surprise also, haven't heard it in awhile but a good surprise! And then to close ANTS AND EVERYDAY? WOW, was that place rocking!
All in all a great show and very high energy! I love Warehouse but I didn't think it fit in this show as an encore closer.... I was hoping for Two Step but still a great show! Congrats to all who had the pleasure of seeing this show!

This was my first Dave concert. I went with little expectations and a bleak knoledge of the music. I left a changed person! The entire concert was great. The concert started(for me anyways) with the cords to Granny. Love.... baby! I actually called the next song, #41, which is so much better live than in cd. I went into shock when the band went from So Much To Say to Super Freak to Too Much. God, when Dave finished Too Much with Little Jon's "What, ok, ya" I wasin heaven. I don't think i could have asked for a better final 4 songs to finish off my first concert; Ants Marching, Everyday, Typical Situation, and Warehouse! I cried during Everyday. The emotion from Dave, the crowd, and myself was too much to handle. I have never screamed as loud as i did at the beginning of Warehouse "wooo!"

Holy cow, was this an incredible show! The epic tale started when we got there at gate opening to try and snag pavilion seats. After sitting until about 7, we had some really slick seats and had bonded with some great folks as well. We didn't catch Jem, but heard most of Guster, who were excellent.
About the show--Butch was really on tonight and has probably been listening to the Doors a bit lately, as his clean piano fills seem to have picked up some of their sound. The energy of the show flowed abnormally well--making this the best show I've been to. Between song breaks have really shortened in duration, which was a pleasant surprise. The new tracks were solid. They still feel to be in lyrical development, but they were rocked out pretty hard with good crowd response. The Superfreak cover was absolutely amazing, especially in seamless transition between SMTS and Too Much (which had a particularly hot jam). Bartender was soulful (with Dave hitting the highs very well during the wail), although Leroi had some mic troubles while playing his pennywhistle outro. Typical Situation was awesome, and I'll Back You Up was so unexpected. As many thumbs up as possible for this show.

My 11th show and my 1st at The Great Alpine Valley Music Theatre, and great it is. I can only imagine a nicer venue (next to the Gorge). The lawn is incredible, and the patio section is fun to pee off of. I still would rather be in section 102, first 20 rows!!! Show was a ton of fun. The show started out with about 14 of us sitting around drinking beer and having a gooood timeeee. Playing alittle lawn dice and the beer flowing. We rolled into Alpine around 3:00 for a little tailgating. Got to my seats in time to see all of Guster's set... It was fantastic! Ryan explains that an "un-named" member of the band has unknowingly eaten a pot brownie and they are freaking out. They play a great set packed full of their best stuff, including a very spirited I Spy. I believe DMB comes out around 8:15 and simply rocks the arena. Great crowd! There were some great oldies at this show: Granny, Help Myself, IBYU, Ants, Typical, and Warehouse. The definite highlight of the night was SMTS->Superfreak->Too Much. I was definitely expecting SMTS->ASTB->Too Much, but Superfreak was scrumptious. I am not quite sure what I think of Joy Ride, we’ll see how it develops. Grey Street right through the encore was packed with very high energy of both the band and the crowd (it was very magical). The Typical, Warehouse encore was a treat. And it only took us 2 hours to get out of the parking lot after the show!

I don't even know where to begin with this show. I must say Alpine was worth every fricken penny i spent!!! I have never felt so much love for DMB at one time than i did this weekend. This night was so impresive...Hello Again as the opener just got me screaming. Hell, the whole first songs were so amazing!!! GRANNY! THE STONE!!! #41!!!!!!!!!( i must say i was suprised to hear these) That night i had lawn seats and it didnt bother me one bit. The energy that everyone has in the crowds just blows you away (espeicially when you meet someone who you know loves dave as much as you do) Everyday live was just amazing espiecially with the crowd chanting while day was doing the song.

Another fabulous weekend at Alpine, thanks to DMB!
(my 17th & 18th shows in 8 years and 7th time here) The first night was amazing and is currently my 2nd favorite I've attended, right behind 7/25/00!
The tribute to Rick James was great to see; Brought to tears by IBYU; Nice to hear Granny again; Always love to hear #41, The Stone, Bartender, Grey Street and Ants; The crowd on Everyday blew me away; Typical Situation, what more can I say!!
The second night's energy was electric! OSW, LLD, and Seek Up are always welcome surpises; Enjoyed hearing the new songs again...the band is really starting to jam on them; The scat by Dave on Jimi Thing...WOW!!! Seeing Stella & Grace dancing on the side of the stage was a treat!
Alpine never disappoints and I will continue to make the journey from Denver! [btw, would love to see a cd/dvd from the 2 nights released]

Wow whar an awesome show. By far the best DMB concert I have ever been to. I was glad to see the band get some balls and open up with Hello Again. Then Granny, 41->Stone was incredible. Carter was unreal on The Stone. The whole rest of the set was rocking. Super Freak was unbelievable. I have never seen the band kick so much ass in 3 minutes then I did on Saturday night. They just blew the roof off with Super Freak. Something I'll probably never see again in my life. Too Much is a beast now. I have to say it is easily now one of my top ten live songs now. The Golden Years outro was awesome to hear. And during the Lil Jon Outro the energy in Alpine was insane. Everybody was going nuts. Everyday was incredible. At the start of the song the band hadd everybody in that crowd just hooked. The (#36) was good to hear as soon as I hear the "I seen you standing..." part it would be a nice jam. After Everyday the crowd was just nuts. Alpine's crowd is the best I have ever seen. I was thinking GGT for the first Encore just because there was only one chill song the whole set. But instead DMB decided to kick my ass again with Typical Situation, fits the first encore spot perfect. Awesome version with a rocking 7/8 jam. Warehouse to close?? That was awesome, the salsa jam gets better every time I hear it, and it makes me real;y appreciate Butch. Energy again was at a peak during this song and thats how it should be. Overall a great concert. One of DMB's best performances and easily the best of 'O4. I almost forgot about the Let You Down tease.

This day began at 3am for the five of us from Thunder Bay, Canada. We drove for about 11 hours straight and managed to get lost in east troy for a half hour before finding the AVMT. It was our first DMB show, and out of the five of us we only had 4 tickets and we cannot thank the scalper who sold our friend a ticket. Both Jem and Guster were great opening bands. When DMB finally took the stage a opened with Hello Again we were blown away and the rest of the show just kept getting better. I spent the last four songs with a girl I met from Burlington, WI and it couldn't have been better. Everyday was usually a song that didn't interest me while watching the dvd's, but sing along to it among with 50,000+ people was amazing. Great show, great trip.

This is one of the best shows I have ever seen, heard, or experienced. The set to this show is absolutely amazing and the energy was flowing through the crowd. Hello Again and JoyRide are my favorites of the new tunes. #41 was amazing to see live, and the three song transition between SMTS, Super Freak, and Too Much was just out of this world. Let's not forget Ants Marching, this song still rocks me, and I'll Back you Up just couldn't have been less welcome. show #83. Hello Again was a surprise opener. This is my 6th show this tour and I have had enough of too much and smts, although I do like that new little horn scat after the 1st verse . My 8th dmband show and I would have to say that this was clearly #1. It got off to a shaky start, when Dave opened with Hello Again (not that I don't enjoy that song, but he hasn't opened a concert with a new song all tour.) But then Granny and a sweet #41, definitley started things off to a great groove. The crowd had so much energy you could just feel it. Then they did the SMTS-> Superfreak->Too Much and I tell you it was the coolest thing I have ever witnessed. . They made the transitions before and after Superfreak seamless. It was HOT. Was my first DMB show at Alpine, and it rocked! Last minute car problems forced me to beg for a ride on the nancies forum. I considered myself a lucky man to be offered a ride by two crazy nurses, who appropriately named me Back Seat Rider. We had a blast! They were kind enough to let me stay in their hotel room, AND helped me find a N2 Pav ticket (I only had a N1 lawn), then MacGuyvered me in next to them in the front left portion of sec 103! The show was amazing and it was the best view Ive ever had. Thanks for everything Kris and Traci! See you at the next one!

I was worried because of my experiences at Tweeter and the first night of Deer Creek, but this really jumped out quick with Granny and #41 2 and 3, that made the show for me right there, everything else was icing. My first time lawn with my friends (I did lawn last year in Atlanta) but this was the first time back home. Had a fun time, but I still feel I coulda enjoyed the show better closer up.
