This was a great show top to bottom although the encore of Cbread & TY could have been better. Either way hearing Warehouse as a opener was a treat & the rest of the set was great as well.

This show was absolutely amazing it was my first dave show and i was nothing but impressed when they came out i almost started crying and almost did again during Jimi Thing which was so much fun to sing.... the encore was lacking a little but none the less it was the most amazing show i've ever seen and hope that there are many more like it to come!

So I wanted to wait a couple days to let my adrenaline calm down, so I could make an unbiased review of the shows this weekend...
Night 2 was absolutely incredible... until the Encore. This show had the writing on the wall to be one of, if not THE BEST shows that DMB has ever played. If only Dave would've continued on with I'll Back You Up! It was such a let down to go from that to cornbread, and I think the crowd let him know in one collective sigh. And although Thank You gets the crowd going, many of us heard that at Toyota Park (and it isnt one of my favs).
Besides the encore, this show ROCKED.... Warehouse opener was sick.... and from there the guys never let up... they played almost 2:45 minutes before taking a break, and I was thankful they did, because I HAD to sit, my legs and feet were killing me from standing constantly!
Highlights were the crowd singing along to Jimi Thing Warehouse and Billies. What a treat to get Stay or Leave, LIOG, Lover Lay Down, The Stone and Stay!!!!

This was an enjoyable show. Warehouse opening is really cool, especially with Dancing Nancey's as the opening to the previous night. The chant at the end of the show for Thank You was awesome. This was also the show where my dad and I caught a drum stick from Carter.

Best Energy I have witnessed. Rapunzel was crazy. I think we did an excellent job of signing Jimi Thing...The Dreaming Tree was a near religious experience for me. I have nothing but awe and amazement for what just happened. The crowd was there for 30 minutes after the show...Thank You!

Show 34 for me, unreal. The best weekend I've ever seen at Alpine. I don't know what to tell you if you weren't there. Anyone knocking these shows, talking about lack of flow, or lack of crowd energy wasn't sitting in the pavillion. The lawn is for the drunk high school kids, the pavillion is for the true fans. The band was having so much fun, the interaction with the fans was unreal, I don't know that this weekend will ever be topped for me. Ever. Special things happened this weekend. Timmy brings so much to the table, Coffin does a nice job filling in for Roi. Dave was going off all weekend. Good times.

Unbelievable vibe tonight! Fans were literally shoved out of the venue! No one wanted to leave! We were all singing thank you for about 45 minutes after the show, it continued into the parking lot. THANK YOU DAVE! (nice dancing too!)

The Boyz jammed their asses off both nights. Good times as always! Met the Virginia peep's for our 6th annual road trek. Could have done without the $426.50 fine. Must be something new. They can take the sting op' snd shove it. As for the shows tho, nothing short of AMAZING both nights! Thanks again DMB! You guys definitely make it worth the travel. This weekend was #52 & 53, and it also was #18 & 19 at alpine for me. I love it every time more and more. They love this place as you could see by the energy they brought both nights. As always makin' us feel good good good! Thought for sure they might come back out for a 2nd encore when the crowd kept Thank You going for almost 30 minutes after the song ended. Thanks for the new memories. DMB is like a fine wine that keeps on getting better with time. We missed Leroi and are still praying for his recovery. Great concert with a lot of crowd participation. Jimi Thing and Whs. were great. Teasing Too Much and then coming back was awesome. I enjoyed the set list from N1 a little more as Crash, Gravedigger, Stay or Leave, Dreaming Tree all lumped so close together were a little too mellow. Great songs but so many at lower energy. The crowd really responded to Sledgehammer with all the pent up energy. Doing 2 nights at Alpine is a must.

8th show. Solid performance. Not the best ever. Warehouse the correct opener for night two after DN the first night night. Granny was spectacular. The Stone was powerful. Great great to listen to a new Solo Dave song full band for a change with Stay or Leave. Following that up with The Dreaming Tree was the highlight of the show without a doubt. However, after Jimi Thing, the show sort of fell apart. Boyd's solo for LIOG was out of tune and lacked energy. The Cornbread/Thank You encore killed the buzz of a really good show to that point. Overall, however, another fun weekend at Alpine full of beer, brats, and the band.

Absolutely a great show. Warehouse opener, first full band "Stay or Leave" ever, "Thank You" that just wouldn't quit...."Lover Lay Down" was a real treat as well. I was with the crowd in wanting to hear "The Last Stop" but I think maybe we killed hearing a full "I'll Back You Up". I can tell that DMB really loves Alpine, great setlist both nights with only 1 repeat and amazing energy from both the band and the crowd.

Honestly, this was the best concert I have ever been to in my entire life. His set list was absolutely incredible, and all songs were played so well. That rendition of Jimi Thing blew the Central Park version out of the water. It was unbelievable.

WOW... where do I begin? I am not going to say Night 1 was better than Night 2 or vice versa. All I am going to say is I am greatful to have been in attendance for BOTH nights at ALPINE for the 4th year in row. What an AWESOME weekend at ALPINE by the GREATEST ROCK BAND on EARTH!!!! Last night was my 16th DMB show and every time I go I still am in awe by how great this band is. Every show still feels like my 1st. THANK YOU DMB for this SUMMER 2008!!! See ya'll next year.

How could DMB top last year's Sunday night performance? How about playing for 3 hours 10 minutes ignoring the Alpine curfew, getting more crowd participation (Stone outro, Jimi thing verses), throwing in some rarely played tunes (Stay or Leave, Stone, Granny, Dreaming Tree) and some dead on covers (Sledgehammer, Thank You). More up tempo songs tonight which really got the crowd going from the start. Another SOLID consistent five star performance!

Maybe the best show I've seen, this was my 17th time seeing DMB and my 10th at Alpine. The encore and the aftermath was absolutely amazing as the band put down their instruments, subsequently picked them back up and started playing again because the crowd was still singing. Even after the band left the stage, the crowd- including myself- stayed and sang for over 30 minutes while the crew dismantled the stage. Coffin and Rashawn were superb, as was Tim Reynolds (always one of my favorites). They all looked like they were having a blast onstage. Truly a spectacular show by the world's greatest band.

My 18th show. Warehouse was the perfect opener for this place. My first time hearing The Stone. I was at the top of the hill hoping to hear the Can't Help Falling in Love outro and there it was - gave me chills!
Even though I KNEW Too Much would tease into something...I had A)no idea it would be LIOG and B) had NO idea it would go back into Too Much. Just when I think I can figure these guys out...

Solid show. It was obvious that Dave was having a blast. I was a little disappointed in the ending. Glad I got to hear Dreaming Tree and the Too Much tease into LIOG back to Too Much was awesome. As for the crowd, I am getting a little sick of how the lawn crowd has turned more and more into high schoolers who know one song they heard on the radio and just come to drink and smoke pot so they think they are cool.

I'll echo some of the above sentiments. This was my 6th year at Alpine. Both nights were absolutely amazing. N2 has to be the top 2 or 3 DMB show I have ever had save the 6/11/01 show at Giants Stadium. Best Alpine weekend for me personally, no doubt. I believe this show probably lost a lot of casual fans, but if you're old school, like to play the setlist guessing game, and like to see the guys just have a blast...this was for you.
And another big welcome back to TR...he just adds some much that I can't believe the band did w/o him for so many years. What a blast, thank you DMB!

If N2 at SPAC this year was better than this show, please pm me and tell me how. I may have trouble believing you, and I've heard the SPAC show about 5 times. We were in the front left of the Warehouse lawn for this one, one of the few places at the front of the lawn where you didn't feel like a sardine, and DMB put on the best setlist and the best show I've seen in the dozen times I've seen them. I only wished I was in reserved so I could have felt the band's energy more. The band was like the Energizer bunny - hey kept going and going with song after song after great song, and the huge crowd added a tremendous vibe to the place. I will come to Alpine every year if I can.

everything about this show was amazing. the energy from the audience (shown when we sang thank you for a good 45 minutes after the bad left the stage, while they were taking the stage apart), sang two full verses of jimi thing with dave providing vocals on the refrain. The Stone with falling in love outro was amazing to be apart of for my first time as well. SMTS -> AOSTB ->TM Tease-> LIOG-> TM was amazing. i never thought would have guessed they would go back to TM. Tripping was amazing with the Natural opening.
I never realized Tim was the short also lol, but still that didn't effect anything; just a small observation.

The energey at this show was unbelieveable. I have NEVER seen Dave is such an awesome mood. I don't think they wanted to stop playing. The crowd was so into the show, Dave didn't even sing the first verse or chorus to Jimmie Thing, the crowd did it for him. It was pretty amazing. I would love to get a copy of this show, I doubt I will ever see another one like it again in my life!

These two nights have proven just how much Dave and the boys love Alpine. This show almost hits night one marks. Again, another incredible show. God how we get spoiled at Alpine....with DMB and all of the sexy, sexy ladies around. Dave practically let us sing all of Jimi Thing, and most of the crowd stayed well after the encore was finished, saying "Thank you, for lettin' me, be myself. Again." Just awesome! Stay or Leave was such a welcomed surprise, as was the midset Stay and Dreaming Tree. And going SMTS>ASTB>LIOG>Too Much and ending with Billies was too much. I could barely take it, the crowd was insane the entire night and the weekend was the best DMB weekend I have had yet. 20 shows down and so many more to come. See you all next year and thank you so much DMB for ending my summer on such high spirits!

This weekend was show 24 & 25 for me...I've never seen a set of shows this good. I hit Alpine every year, and while it's always good, this was amazing! Haven't seen anything close since Deer Creek 2000. Great crowd, amazing energy, setlists were perfect. Never gonna forget the sound of people chanting long after the show was over. Dave and the boys delivered a memorable weekend!!

For a casual DMB listener, this concert was nothing to brag about. The music was fine, however i could have done without hear half of these songs. Out of the 3 shows i've seen the band perform live, this is by far the worst one.

Great, Great concert. Dave let the crowd sing the verses to Jimmy Thing while the band played. Jeff Coffin also busted out some dual saxophones for his solo in Jimmy Thing. The crowd chanted "Thank you for letting me be my self again" for at least a half an hour after DMB stopped playing. People stayed until the Alpine Valley staff brought out whistles and started marshaling people out of the venue. Can't wait until next year!

tremendous energy and setlist, some of the best teases I have ever heard. Dave was very interactive and hilarious telling everyone that he was riding around dressed as a bicycle cop earlier in the day. Crowd kept singing "I wanna thank you for lettin me be myself, again!" for 30 min after the show had stopped, insane!

Amazing! The two-verse singalong with Jimi Thing was an unforgetable experience. It was one of those nights when the band puts a little something extra into the performance; you can\'t really describe it, but you feel it.
note to UIUCprincess.. the glowsticks were the result of one guy, who sat next to me in Sec 210, KK. He brought a bag of like, 50 of them. Right after Warehouse, he slowly opened the bag and methodically began throwing them, one by one, til they were gone. He had a strange, blank stare as he did this. Dude, if you are reading this.. stop sleeping next to your box of glowsticks, the radioactivity is obviously damaging your brain.

Simply unbelievable. Warehouse opener, then into Granny, Rhyme and Reason, the Dreaming tree, Gravedigger, The Stone!, the crowd immediately catching on to the "For What its Worth" riffs and singing protest verses for minutes on end, the 5th row seats, Dave dancing around with our hats on and throwing them back at us, only two songs repeated from N1, Dave playing his wife aniversary songs, the nonstop energy-filled improvisation the entire band was doing in the last half, just amazing. Thank you for letting me be myself again.

Just when you thought DMB could not get any better than the show from the night before, they go ahead and do it. This was a show that brought energy from the start and lasted all thoughout the set. Not my personal favorite of setlists...but I don't like Too Much (love when they fake it though!), and I'm not a huge fan of Gravedigger, Old Dirt Hill, or Cornbread (it's wearing on me).
I did love The Stone's outro, Jimi Thing Crowd intro...and to see everyone stay for 35+ min and sing Thank You was cool, for the first 10 minutes...after that it became a bit obnoxious. I was a bit disappointed there wasn't a 2nd encore because of that though. I mean, there were probably about 15,000 people chanting the refrain, and no acknowledgement? Just one more song would have been nice...just a Dave solo...it sure would have cut out all the chanting in the pavilion afterwards!
And when did throwing glowsticks at pavilion people become popular? Sheesh...the west lawn seemed to be filled with jackasses this weekend.

Great energy from the band and the crowd, terrific show. Can't wait to D/L. I love the band messing with standards like ASTB into other songs, including the Too Step tease into LIOG. And the fact that the crowd was FORCED by about 20 Alpine Security Guards to leave after 30-45 minutes.
