Ok show, highlights= 41 ....... LA crowd is the worst ever...people coming to freaking talk during the songs and texting and just seating down, you all can go to Starbucks instead and save yourself some money, especially you with red hair, the one on Sec 113 row 11....looking forward to Chula and a real DMB crowd.

great show. i find it interesting the way they choose to deal with the current situation..
seek up was SPECTACULAR, i could really feel the emotion.
loved the way they did rhyme and reason(one of roi's favorites),
#41 dave siad, "leroi haated this song" hhehe in a playfull mood right before they went into it. another standout was you might die trying. the jams on crush and jimi thing were fun.
gotta say that for some reason i was really feeling the first half of the show more than the second, except for Out of My Hands i LOVE that song so glad i was able to hear it.
the encore seemed a little weird for some reason. hmm

what a great show.... From start to finish ..... What was very cool was how dave let the crowd sing the first 2 verses of jimithing ...that was a cool thing to be a part of ... Figures how the LA crowd gets most excited when the song about coke comes on ... It was nice to see at the end of the show when the band got off stage they seem to be hugging roi's family ... Dave and carter where down there for a while .. Just hugging them and smiling with them...

Was at both shows and they were both special! Dave and the band brought the energy back up tonight. Another amazing performance under the circumstances. Jeff Coffin was amazing.

So glad that I was there to witness Staples N2. The tone was still somber, but more upbeat and celebration like compared to N1. Thoughts of LeRoi were of course still on everyone's minds, and I loved hearing Dave's stories and stuff about him. The band was rockin out tonight- awesome versions of Warehouse, Crush, #41 (Jeff Coffin is amazing!) Rhyme and Reason and Out of My Hands- oh, and I love watching Dave get down!! I've seen DMB many many times live, but went with a friend who was pretty much a first timer- she loved the show, and said it made her even more of a fan! The crowd was my only complaint- people texting throughout the whole show- WTF??? Kick ass 2 nite stand--Excited for Chula on 8/22, and can't wait to see what is in store for us there!

Man, they played their hearts out. it was joyous. Dave mentioned Roi a lot again, and said some amazingly eloquent things. My favorite comment was when he said that they sing a lot about death, but what they're really doing is singing about life. It was amazing. Highlights for me (aside from the emotionally charged and always amazing Seek Up, Jimi, 41, Warehouse, and Crush) were:
Gravedigger- full band is great great great
Old Dirt Hill- Sans Background vocals makes the song much better
Out of my hands- The song is more upbeat than I've heard them do. At the end they turn it into this funky little thing you can move to.

Where the previous show felt so heavy emotionally, this show just felt LOUD.
With all the band members in black (well except for Boyd in tan) they carried on their tribute to their friend. It was another wonderful night, and I am humbled to have been a part of it.

Someone on the boards said it best....the night before was a remembrance of LeRoi, this night was a celebration. At the beginning of the night the boys had a couple of flubs, and at that point I thought the events of the days before had caught up with them and the show was going to be a not so good one. But after those first few bumps they played incredibly tight throughout and once again impressed beyond belief.
The best parts of the night were Dave's bits about Roi which he included throughout the night. Especially memorable was his comments about Roi "haaaaating" #41 right before playing it. Jeff played the sax intro just like Roi did on the album, which I think was the only time he played it like that all year (could be wrong though).
Overall another great performance by the band and a great celebration of Roi.

The First half of the show was unbelievable...SEEK UP WAREHOUSE GRAVEDIGGER AND RHYME AND REASON. I loved #41 and CRUSH. For some reason the end of the show fell off. If they left off BAYOU and STAY...it could have been one of the best shows ever.
I LOVED ALL THE DAVE SPEAK AND STORIES ABOUT ROI!

Night Two... turned mourning to celebrating. The band was still effected, but were really playing for Roi. Solid Solid show...you must hear to apreciate I think as the dave speak and the renditions push the set list.

A totally different show from night 1. The boys celebrated Leroi's life and once I saw Carter smile, I knew everything was going to be ok.

What a difference a day makes. It was great to see such an upbeat performance in light of the previous day - which is not to say the day before was a bad performance, in fact, it was fantastic. But tonight the mood was more upbeat, the band smiled more and seemed to have regained a sense of life. Jeff Cottin did a ripping solo or two. I think that no matter what the future brings, all these guys will continue performing in one capacity or another - to quote Darth Vader: "the force is strong"

It was a tremendous 180 degree difference from night one to night 2. The smiles had returned. There was still a bit of bittersweetness lingering in the air, but it seemed more of a celebration through the entire night than the night before. The fervor in which the solos were played was incredible. Jeff had huge shoes to fill this night with #41 on the setlist, and he did it respectively and gracefully. As for the show itself, what a great show! Emotion removed from the situation (which was practically impossible), the energy in each song was incredible. Even from the nosebleeds where I was at, you could feel everything coming off the stage! Fantastic end of my DMB 2008 year!

Where the night before was an evening of shock and grieving emotion, night two in LA turned into a celebration of life, as the band played with more energy than I could remember. They played for him.

After Tuesday night, I didn't know what to expect. The band had some time to let it sink in about losing Roi. When Dave said he had talked to a friend the other day about Roi and then he realized it was just yesterday, it hit home how time had just seemed to stand still since the news broke. I give them heaps of credit for going on last night with all the raw emotions still there. As much as last night was this incredible grieving, this show really was a celebration of Roi. Carter really put his all into it. It's funny how going to s show and people around you make a difference. Last night I was with a bunch of wherehouse and antsmarching members around me and it makes one feel not alone that such a tragedy has happened. This show I only had two girls behind me that had gone to the show the night before. Most everyone in my row was more concerned with leaving to go get a beer or to the bathroom and I felt like a revolving door with peole coming in and out constantly. I still wasn't going to let it deter me from enjoying the great music and a celebration and tribute to Roi. It was awesome!!!!

Much more upbeat than Night 1. Pretty amazing setlist. Loved that they opened up with Seek Up. Wish they would have played Granny or Tripping Billies, but overall an awesome awesome show. Definitely makes my top 5 of all time.

Possibly the most intense Seek Up ever. The camera cut to Carter just as the horns started in the intro and he was visibly choked up. Jimi Thing was above average also. They were definitely on fire tonight. Jeff really seemed to give it everything he had.
Dave also told another Roi story. In short, he said that Big Voice Jack had given Roi two pennywhistles. He said Roi returned the favor by sending Jack 'the slickest pennywhistle set you ever saw' with tons of them. It was a nice story.

Unbelievable show. Finally my first #41, and it was insane - the dueling between Carter and Jeff was unreal and definitely a highlight. The back and forth between Jeff and Tim on Crush was incredible as well. Such a great way to celebrate Roi's life.

AMAZING!!! How they were able to pull it together and put on such a great show the day after Leroi passed, WOW! they whole building was just full of energy and never sat down the entire show. I loved every minute of it....well maybe not every minute, thanks for playing Where Are You Going so I could take a bathroom and beer break. Dave playing Piano, awesome! Miss you Leroi.

Very different show compared to last night. The intensity wasn't there, just solid DMB from start to finish. Tuesday's concert blew me away, last night was something I wouldn't have missed, but it didn't thrill me like Tues.
Steady stuff and another great night for the Son.
Most notable was the play Jeff Coffin - OUT of his mind tonight. last night I wasn't that impressed but thought it could be an off-night. It must have been. The guy can Play. Rashawn rocks too. Tim had far less time. Dave cracked me up with his comment: "LeRoi HATED this next song."... #41

All the somberness from the night before was gone. They came out much more upbeat and stayed that way through most of the set. Seek Up was crazy, one of the best versions I've heard. Same with Crush. Jeff Coffin was amazing on 41. Dave told a couple of stories about LeRoi, but the mood never turned dark like Tues. Easily a top 5 for me.

If Staples N1 was a sad occasion, this was a celebration. Great. Jeff and Tim on 41. Best Crush ever. Insane stops on Rapunzel. So Much To Say>Anyone Seen The Bridge>Too Much is becoming rare, given the mount of fakes lately. I was hoping for Halloween there, but I get it. Great show. Saw Carter smile and blow bubbles again. Jeff and RR were great. Tim smiled and laughed. They're coming back, folks.
