It was amazing! My first Dave show ever, so 4/20 was perfect. I just wish he had played more of my favorites, but luckily I'm going to Tampa in August!

Honestly, was a little dissappointed after two nights in charlottesville, but how the hell do you follow that? great show, band energy was awesome and the crowd was suprisingly good, nice to be from bham, my first show was in 2001 at this same venue, now 8 years later this summer i will have my 40th show!! thanks dmb, my 7th consecutive tour

This 18th anniversary show was awesome. I can't believe I heard Blue Water...and Dreaming Tree as the 2nd song? That was sweet. 5 song encore....that's right I"m counting it. Lol. Energy was great and I could almost feel Leroi's prescence there, and I know the band could as well. Dave forgot to sing Jimi Thing, but letting the crowd sing the 2 verses was cool too. Also Carter saved Dave's ass when Dave almost derailed Recently at the end, but no one else seemed to notice but me so....good job band.

Awsome Venue, for such a small venue the Mountain scenery in the background was cool during the day. G-Friend and I stayed at Oak Mountain State Park the night before and we had the best time. Can't wait til DMB goes back to Pelham!!! i'm already excited

Pretty solid show. My 20th show overall. I've seen better but at the same time I dont want to take anything away from this one. Highlights were of course the 3 new songs, Cornbread, and Blue Water Baboon Farm. The 3 new songs have taken on good form especially with it being this early in the tour. I can't wait to hear the rest of them. Cornbread has always been a favorite of mine. It gets played alot but its one I am always glad to hear due to the energy and changes in it. Blue Water Baboon Farm was a very nice surprise, I had never heard it live and just hearing the tease made the show for me.

This was a phenomenal show...the setlist really flowed well. The best version of Recently and Grey St I have probably ever heard. The ASTB into a Too Much fake then into Tripping Billies was pretty neat. Loved the new songs...still not classic DMB sound that I love, however they are great fresh songs and it sounds like it will be a great album. Burning Down the House was a fun surprise and it sounded great as well...great cover. Dave was in an extra goofy mood talking to the crowd, acting silly, and dancing around a lot. Boyd was surprisingly not as active around the stage as he normally is, however he sounded great. One of the best shows of the 15 I've been to.

About 2 weeks from the anniversary of my first show, in the same city. This is the 3rd DMB show for me in B'ham, and unfortunately I would have to say my least favorite. I will take it any time though. Dave's worst show would be a great one for me.

Glad to see DMB back in Alabama with a pretty good show. This was my first time at this venue; I was half-way up section 304 and the seating where the lawn would usually go seemed to kill a bit of energy from what would have been a high energy crowd. The sound was great and the lights & video were as good as ever.
The setlist brought some suprises and a few happy mistakes. I'm pretty sure Dave left the first verse off Raven. After not hitting it himself, Dave let the crowd sing the verses to Jimi Thing, I'd love to hear this on tape. Bridge>Too Much(Tease)>Billies was a pleasant suprise. But I'm sure this show will be remembered for the Blue Water Baboon Farm tease before Sister - I was in shock. I haven't even listened to the recording of this song in years! It will be nice to see if this gets played out into a fuller version. It seems as if Spaceman has become the new Where Are You Going - a great song to ignore and get a beer to. No one around me really seemed to dig it - I thought it was great though.
I rated this on a 4 out of 5 tonight. The show was great, but I've seen DMB quite a few times and this was not one of my favorites - but hell, I can't complain, I got to see my favorite band tonight! --Jeremy

Great show! Blue Water was nice to hear as was Recently. The audio was mixed very nicely.

Cons:
Parking
The people assiting with parking (not assisting really)
Price of beer ($10.00)
Beer Selection (Budwieser only)
Beer vendor only accepted cash for my crappy overpriced beer.
3rd tier seating (I wasn't a fan of the lawn until I saw what they replaced it with, its been almost 10 years but I'm still bitter about it)

Anyway, The DMB put on a great show and I'm glad that I was able to attend.

I have been going to see Dave for 10 years and this show is one of the best i have been to. The past few years it has felt like there was a lack of energy with the fans and with the band but that seemed to go away last night. The band seems to be on fire for this tour and I hope it continues.

Wow! Great great show last night. The boys started fast last night and never slowed down (minus Sister, but it was E1, so it's understandable.)Anyway, about the show:

Don't Drink The Water: Very strong opener. Was hoping for either this or Bartender to open. Great song to get the crowd going.

Dreaming Tree: I was surprised to hear this this early. I've always thought of this to be a great midset song, but nevertheless, it was my first Dreaming Tree considering I left halfway through Piedmont Park so I was happy to finally hear this one.

Recently: My first Recently. One of the best songs of the night. I was hoping for an eight minute jam version of this song and that's exactly what we got. Everybody was dancing big time during this song. It was very very well performed and an all-around fun song.

You Might Die Trying: I'm not gonna lie, I cringe whenever I see this on the setlist at home on a computer, but whew, this song is SO much better live than when I first heard it at Deer Creek in 2007. Tim, Jeff, and Rashawn bring a lot to the song. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it.

Why I Am: Fun new song. It seemed like they slowed the tempo down compared to the MSG version. Made me look forward to Big Whiskey.

Rhyme and Reason: If this ever comes on my iPod, I usually skip it, but it was fun to see it live for the first time. Tim owns on this.

Funny The Way It Is: I love the studio version of this song, but the only noteworthy thing about this live is an extended Boyd solo.

Ants Marching: Totally caught off guard with this. I saw it close the set in Louisville last year, so I was pleasantly surprised to see Ants mid-set. The band continues to have a great time playing this live and you know the crowd is always gonna love hearing Ants. I may be biased, but this was one of the best Ants Marching I've ever heard.

Raven: Another shocker. Never thought I'd hear Raven live before Where Are You Going. I hadn't listend to this song in awhile so I'd forgotten how great a tune it is. I really enjoyed Jeff on this one.

Crash Into Me: Hadn't heard it live, so I got to cross it off the list. Standard Crash.

So Damn Lucky: Finally got to hear this. Love the extended outro. It may have just been me, but it seemed like Tim was having a little trouble at the beginning of the outro. Great tune.

Spaceman: My favorite musically of the new tunes. Great horn parts and I really like Tim's little blues-like solo to end it. This went into....

Cornbread: I know how much everyone hates seeing this on the setlist every single night, but boy, this thing has become a monster IMO. You may disagree, but live, this song is money.

Grey Street: Seen this at all four of the shows I've been to, and this was the best one. It may have just been because I was there, but it seemed like they jammed at the end for A LOT longer than they usually do. Jeff and Rashawn dueling back and forth was a heck of a lot of fun to watch.

Jimi Thing: my first Jimi Thing. Again, I may be a little biased, but this is probably the best Jimi Thing I've ever heard. It had everything: awesome Boyd solo, awesome Tim solo, Jeff Coffin on two saxes, Carter tearing it up as always, and a nice little Dave scat to end. What more could you ask from this song?

Anyone Seen The Bridge ...> Too Much Intro ...> Tripping Billies: saw them do the Bridge into Ants at Louisville last year and was hoping they had another fake in them, and of course, they did. ASTB was fun as always, and Boyd was on top of his game on Billies. Great way to close the set.

Blue Water: WOW! I had to do a quadruple take to make sure my ears were hearing right. I never thought I would ever hear a portion of this song ever. All I can say is THANK YOU DAVE!

Sister: What better way to bring us back to Earth from the high of Blue Water? This was in the E1 spot, so I didn't really mind hearing it.

Burning Down The House: Got to hear the first ever version of this in Louisville last year, and was surprised to hear it in the encore. They really have a lot of fun playing this and it showed in their delivery. Flawless cover.

PNP ....> Rapunzel: I was hoping for anything but Stay to close, and I was happy to take PNP/Rapunzel. Jeff and Rashawn tore this song to SHREDS in the closing jam. Without a doubt the best PNP/Rapunzel I've ever heard.

Best show I've seen. Check it out and judge for yourself. Hope to have DMB back in Birmingham next year.
